Oh. I can tell you a thing or two about Grendel the Really Old. Sure, he seems real swell. what with his magic and leading the Magician Association and all. But can we really trust him? That smelly old human's got a secret agenda, mark my words. Did you know, back when he was Grendel the Kinda Middle-Aged, he dabbled in all kinds of dark magic? That's just how human magicians are! All he cared about was unlocking new knowledge, and along the way he caused all kinds of mischief. Dark energy spread all over Ellinia Forest because of him. and Lupins started turning into zombies. Where did you think Faust came from? Yeesh. it gives me the heebie-jeebies. So no. I don't like the old man. Sure, he acts espectable now. but you never know when he's gonna curse ya!

Still, he's not all bad. Sometimes he gets so engrossed in his research he falls asleep in his lab, his tea getting cold by his side. He mumbles silly magic phrases in his sleep. Oh, and the man's got a sweet tooth. Sometimes I leave fruit on the windowsill of his lab, and it's gone the next morning. Of course, I didn't see who took it, but I know it's him. He acts all dignified, but he's still a human, after all. And, sure, all of the human magicians who come to study under him make Ellinia nice and lively. And, yeah, he's saved us from monsters once or twice. But I'm watching him! The instant he starts dabbling in dark magic again. I'll be the first to know. Old habits die hard for magicians, after all.
