Evan is a Hero Magician released during the v.84: Evan[4] Update.
Evan is one of the six Heroes. Evan starts his journey on a farm as the son of a farmer. As the Dragon Master, he uses a dragon to fight alongside himself.
Raised as the son of a pig farmer, Evan stumbled across the last egg of the legendary Onyx Dragons, forming a Spirit Pact with a hatchling named Mir. Believing that being a Dragon Master is his calling, Evan and Mir strive to become great heroes, though the Black Wings hope to trick them and use them to steal the Seal Stones. Along the way, Evan and Mir discover their legacy as the successors of Freud and Afrien, the leaders of the Heroes who formed the first Spirit Pact centuries ago.
Similar to Mechanic, Evan can equip extra equipment categorized as Dragon Equipment.
Story

Evan was a young boy who worked on his family's farm in Henesys. One day, Evan had a dream about an Onyx Dragon and awoke to find the mark of the Spirit Pact on his hand. While doing chores around his family's farm, he fell down a covered hole and found an Onyx Dragon egg, from which hatched a baby dragon named Mir. With their souls bonded through the Spirit Pact, Mir convinced Evan to fulfill his destiny as a Dragon Master by helping others. Evan began helping the people of Henesys and soon began investigating the sudden disturbance of monsters around the town. Soon after, Evan decided to join the Victoria Guard and began helping them spread the word about the monster attacks throughout the island.
While helping the townspeople of Victoria Island, Evan began doing research on Mir and his species. He learned that Mir was an Onyx Dragon, which were said to be extinct. Refusing to believe that his kind were gone, Mir asked Evan to keep investigating. Their research led them to meet with Chief Tatamo of Leafre, who revealed that a dark force had wiped out the Onyx Dragons centuries ago. Soon after, Evan investigated reports of a thief stealing herbs in Sleepywood. Evan learned that the thief was one of Francis' puppets, which had stolen the herbs in order to heal his master. Grateful for Evan's help in gathering medicinal supplies, the puppet pulled some strings with Francis in order to allow Evan to become a temporary member of the Black Wings, which Evan accepted, mistakenly believing that the Black Wings were a noble organization that helped others.
For Evan's first mission, he obtained a special growth serum for the Black Wings. Unbeknownst to him, the Black Wings used the serum on the Nependeaths of Orbis, growing them tall enough to reach the Sealed Garden, where they managed to steal the Seal Stone of Orbis. For Evan's second mission, he worked with a Hoblin named Shammos in El Nath in order to obtain a black key, which he left behind for the Black Wings, who used it to steal the Seal Stone of El Nath. While working for the Black Wings, Evan also heard rumors of an Onyx Dragon on a remote island and attempted to travel there. Though they found a slumbering dragon inside a cave on the island, they were unable to get past the large ice wall blocking them, and so he decided to turn back. Meanwhile, Evan met with a Black Wings officer named Hiver and worked with him to steal the Seal Stone of Ludibrium. Feeling unease about whether he was truly doing the right thing, Evan and Mir began questioning the Black Wings and their motives.
Soon after, Evan obtained a map to Turtle Island for Hiver, who took them to the same island where they had found the sleeping Onyx Dragon dragon. After being tricked by Hiver into breaking the ice wall separating them from the dragon, Evan and Mir felt that something was wrong and stopped Hiver from killing the dragon. The dragon then revealed himself as Afrien, the King of Onyx Dragons, and revealed that he and Evan's predecessor, Freud, had formed the first Spirit Pact centuries ago. He explained that the Black Mage - after the Onyx Dragons had refused to side with him - had wiped out his entire species, leaving him and his egg, from which Mir had hatched, as the only survivors.
Realizing that they had been used, Evan and Mir returned back to the sites of each of the missions and learned that the Black Wings had tricked them into stealing important treasures from each region. Furious, Evan and Mir sought out Hiver and attacked him, though he managed to escape. The two then decided to find Hiver and get even. Evan and Mir tracked Hiver to Edelstein, where they fell into a trap set by him. While escaping, they encountered Claudine and learned that she was part of the Resistance. Realizing that they had a common enemy, Claudine invited Evan to join the Maple Alliance in order to fight against the Black Wings and the Black Mage.
As the Alliance continued to do battle with the Black Mage's forces, Evan was called back to Turtle Island, which had come under attack by Damien and his demon army. Tasked by Freud and Afrien with stopping the threat to the World Tree, Evan reunited the other Heroes in order to retrace Freud's footsteps and locate the Abyss Crystal on Friends World. After Damien stole the crystal and used it to take Alicia's powers, Evan and the other Heroes fought and defeated him, restoring Maple World's vitality back to the land.

Trivia
- Before the MapleStory: Heroes of Maple update, Mir would do all of the attacking, while Evan commanded from the side. In addition, Evan had 10 Job Advancements instead of 4.
- Some of Evan's skills are Fire Skills and Lightning Skills, allowing the player to deal more damage against monsters weak to Fire Element and Lightning Element, respectively.
- If the player doesn't have a way to teleport away, [Evan] Letter Delivery is required to access areas outside of the Farm.
- Advancing to 1st and 2nd jobs is instant upon leveling up.
