Qiongqi is one of the Four Perils of Grandis.
Story
The Ancient War
Qiongqi was created during the war against the Ancient Gods by Kaling, a researcher and a defective Vessel from Odium. He, along with Hundun, Taowu, and Taotie, were mechanical robots given sentience and sent to Grandis in order to devour lesser fiends, as Kaling hoped to augment their strength and combine them in order to create an ultimate weapon. The four of them soon became known as the Four Perils as they began terrorizing all of Grandis. Before Kaling could finish her experiment, the Adversaries won the war against the Ancient Gods. At the end of the war, the researchers of Odium realized that they could no longer turn a blind eye to Kaling's madness, and so they sent another defective Vessel named Tai Yu in order to stop her. Tai Yu successfully sealed away Kaling in a place that the researchers could not reach, and in a way that left no trace. He also sealed most of the Four Perils, including Qiongqi.
Kaling's Return
After a long span of time, Kaling's seal degraded to the point that she was able to break free. Following her release, she sought out Gerand Darmoor and became one of his Apostles. Soon after, Kaling began searching for the Four Perils in order to complete her experiment. She eventually found and released Qiongqi from its seal, after which Tai Yu was dispatched by the elders in order to investigate the cause for its release and its current location.
Shangri-La
Following the invasion of Odium, Kaling broke into Shangri-La with the help of several elders who had sided with Darmoor. Kaling then unleashed Qiongqi in Shangri-La's Spring, where it attacked Ara, the Guardian of Spring. Kaling later fused with Qiongqi, Hundun, and Taowu in order to face the Adversary. After the Adversary defeated her, the Worldheart that they possessed reacted to the Transcendent powers that Darmoor had given Kaling, causing it to absorb all of her energy, including that of the Perils, leading to their deaths.
