Tasha is a High Flora commoner who worked to upend her people's caste system. Tasha died giving birth to Khali, who had inexplicably been born with magic.

Story

Desert Wind

Tasha was a High Flora commoner born in Erimos who honed her physical gifts in martial arts. Discontent with the caste system of their people, Tasha hoped to dismantle the inequality of their society by becoming a firebrand who could bring about such change. Tasha became close friends with another commoner named Kinan, who worked together with Tasha in order to vocally challenge the caste system.

While Kinan openly opposed and criticized the Priests, Tasha used her exceptional skills to challenge Priests in Syamans - honor duels reserved only for those with magical talent. After defeating the Priests in Syamans, Tasha would scar them as a physical mark of her victory over them, thereby demonstrating that if a commoner was capable of defeating a Priest, then the caste system that dictated superiority through magic held no meaning.

Tasha's actions frequently brought about the attention of the Zealous - the city guard - who worked to contain Tasha and Kinan's dangerous ideology before it could spark a fire amongst their people. Tasha would soon marry a commoner named Jad, who owned a weapon shop. In order to keep attention away from them, Tasha and Jad kept their union a secret.

Saving Anan

At one point, Tasha encountered a High Priest named Anan, who had climbed atop a cliff in search of a rare flower said to cure an illness that his wife was suffering from. When Anan began falling from the cliff, Tasha - despite her hatred of Priests - nevertheless saved him before disappearing. Soon after, Anan sent Tasha money in gratitude for her help, though Tasha was offended by the gesture, believing it to be a handout.

Soon after, Anan sent another letter to Tasha, explaining that the money that he had given her had been in gratitude, adding that he had been truly grateful for the unexpected hand that she had lent him, as he had heard the rumors about her circulating amongst the Priests. He added that he would never have expected for her to have saved the life of a High Priest like him.

He also wrote that his wife was very sick, and that according to rumor, a mysterious flower that grew on the cliff that Tasha had saved him on would cure the illness. Though he had known that it was likely a superstition, he had gone anyways, as he had been desperate enough to take any chance that he could to save his wife. He added that he was grateful that Tasha had caught him when he had been about to fall and asked whether there was a way for him to reciprocate her favor.

Following this exchange, Anan and Tasha grew to become unlikely friends, with Anan revealing himself as a sympathizer for the plight of commoners, despite his exalted status as a High Priest. Anan then became a family friend of Tasha, coming into correspondence with both Jad and Kinan.

Syaman with Laiyan

Soon after, Tasha was confronted by Laiyan, the captain of the Zealous, near the outskirts of Erimos. Laiyan attempted to arrest Tasha for repeatedly attacking several Priests, whom he called her 'betters'. When Tasha claimed that Syamans between High Flora were justified, Laiyan replied that Syamans was reserved only for Priests and Gods. However, Tasha retorted by asking why they they had all agreed to fight her if the restrictions on Syamans were so strict, and why they had all lost if they really were her 'betters'.

Tasha then challenged Laiyan to face her in a Syaman. Upon seeing his anger at her insolence, she laughed and asked if he was afraid of losing to a commoner like herself, who had no magical powers. Laiyan replied that she had grown quite arrogant for winning against a few Priests, claiming that anyone could become a Priest if they had even a drop of magic inside them.

He then claimed that his magic was on a much different level from the Priests whom she had encountered, and that no matter how talented she was at martial fighting, there was no way that a commoner with no magical power could defeat him. Tasha replied that if he was so confident, then he wouldn't have a problem agreeing to face her in a Syaman.

Laiyan accepted her challenge and immediately moved to attack, though Tasha dodged his sword strike by leaping into the air and jumping atop a rock formation. Laiyan continued pursuing and attacking, but to his surprise, Tasha appeared behind him and held a Chakram to his throat before laughing that a member of the Zealous wasn't much of a challenge after all.

Tasha then asked if he was beginning to question the caste system after seeing that she was much stronger than him. She explained that he was a Priest because he had been born with magical powers, and that she was a commoner because she hadn't. However, she claimed that even if she had been born with magic, she would have been killed, not made into a Priest, simply because she would have been born with magic to two commoners.

She then asked Laiyan whether he truly thought that it was right, though Laiyan merely claimed that she had won through trickery. However, Tasha replied that she hadn't used any tricks, and that he had lost simply because he was that much weaker than her. As the Zealots began rushing to the scene, Tasha laughed that luck seemed to be on his side before fleeing.

Anan's Gift

Tasha then returned back to her home, where her Jad told her that Kinan had brought them a crib from Anan. Tasha immediately told Jad that they couldn't accept Anan's gift, as the people wouldn't be happy if they heard about a Priest congratulating a commoner on her pregnancy with a gift. Jad joked that she sounded like a Priest before explaining that they needed the crib, as business wasn't good lately.

He told Tasha that there were rumors circulating that they were married and explained that while the commoners supported them, it was mainly the Priests – whom she regularly fought – who bought the weapons that they sold at their shop. Tasha began to apologize, though Jad told her not to be sorry, explaining that he was proud of her, and that he believed that she was doing the right thing. However, he asked her not to push herself too hard, now that she was pregnant.

Tasha then read the letter that Anan had enclosed with the crib, in which he congratulated Tasha on her pregnancy and explained that his wife had recently gotten pregnant as well, which he believed to be a miracle. He wrote that though his wife's body hadn't fully recovered from the illness, she was looking forward to the day that their child would be born.

He noted that Tasha's child would be born around the same time as his own and added that her child would be mature and full of energy, just like her. He also explained that the crib that he had sent with his letter wasn't a gift to her, but to her child, adding that he hoped that their children would be good friends, despite their different castes, just like he and she were.

Death

One year later, Tasha grew deathly pale as she neared the end of her labor. As Jad and Kinan waited patiently, Jad's mother, Ritan, told Jad that Tasha was calling for him. Jad and Kinan rushed to her side, where they were shocked to find her severely weak. Though it was difficult for her to speak, Tasha explained that she could feel magic inside her womb.

Kinan immediately realized that they needed to remove the baby right away, explaining that she had once read a book about mutations, which explained that when a commoner gave birth to a mutant - a commoner child inexplicably born with magic - the mother would be unable to handle the child's magical power during birth, which would result in her death.

Jad asked Kinan whether removing the baby would allow Tasha to live. Kinan explained that Flora babies with magical powers would open their wings at birth, meaning that Tasha would survive if they could remove the baby before that, though she warned that the baby would die in the process. After struggling to make a decision, Jad told Kinan to remove the baby. However, a weak Tasha begged him to save the child instead, as she wanted it to be safe and happy. Jad reluctantly agreed to heed Tasha's wishes and allowed her to deliver the child, which spread its magical wings at birth and killed her in the process.

Legacy

Following Tasha's death, Kinan - knowing that mutants would be killed at birth - offered to take the baby somewhere safe, believing that its existence as a commoner with magic was a statement in itself that even commoners had magic deep inside their bodies. Though she hoped that the baby would inherit Tasha's legacy and challenge the caste system, Jad replied that he wanted his child to be safe, and so, at Kinan's suggestion, he delivered the baby to Anan and requested him to raise the child. With Anan's wife having given birth to their own daughter, both Tasha's child and Anan's child were raised together as twins - Khali and Rasha.

Just like Tasha, Khali was gifted with exceptional physical abilities and unparalleled speed. On the day that Khali came of age, Anan brought her to Jad's weapon shop, where Jad presented Khali with Tasha's keepsake - a white scarf imprinted with her mark. Khali also requested a second scarf for Rasha, to which Jad gave her a blue scarf. Later on, Khali and Rasha would exchange scarves, with Khali wearing the blue scarf and Rasha wearing Tasha's white scarf.

Soon after, it became known to the Zealous that Tasha's daughter was a mutant. After interrogating Tasha's family and friends, the Zealous came to believe that Rasha, who had Tasha's scarf, was the mutant, for which she was killed. Soon after, Khali realized that she, in fact, was Tasha's daughter, as the scarf had originally been given to her. With the death of her family, Khali fled Erimos and traveled to Maple World in order to gain the strength to get her revenge on Ypsilon, who had killed Rasha and Anan.

Khali would later return to Erimos and found a stack of letters that Anan had written to Tasha and Jad. She also found a book that Tasha had written, which described her battle technique and tactics, which she had dedicated to her unborn child. After reading through Tasha's tactics, Khali enhanced her own skills and applied them in combat, hoping to use them in order to get revenge.
