Ione is the daughter of King Hekaton and is the Princess of Kritias. After a disaster strikes Kritias that turns her father into a monster, she goes into hiding to avoid the Black Mage's forces. She takes refuge in the inn, pretending to be a servant boy named Ian for Miriam, who acts as a decoy for the princess.
