Tavern Keeper is a potion NPC and the local tavern owner in Cheong-woon Valley.
History
Cheong-woon Valley
After Hoyoung, accidentally releases the spirits devoured by Taotie, they formulate a plan to recover the spirits. The two go to a local tavern, because Volume 12 of the Tales of Tai Yu states that taverns are the best place to go to pick up local rumors, and eavesdrop on some of the residents. Two of them, Ironhide and Willow, have a conversation when Ironhide gets a fish bone stuck in his throat. Hoyoung disguises himself as a bartender (without being noticed by the Tavern Keeper) and retrieves some Sikhye from monsters nearby for them to drink.
As Hoyoung settles into Cheong-woon Valley and works as an investigator, he becomes acquainted with all the residents. He frequently visits the tavern with his mentor Farasi, where they eat soup (original text: Gukbap).
Several days later, Hoyoung eats soup but does not feel good. She looks through that and whipped up a little something special for Hoyoung which is puts the fire back in his belly.
Few days later, Farasi says she is going back to the sea as for dreams. Hoyoung says he will miss all those lunches (original text: Gukbap) they had together. Hoyoung says even if their paths don't cross, they leave letters with tavern's owner telling each other how they are doing.
Black Heaven
In the Black Heaven story, Hoyoung comes Cheong-woon Valley and says fortunately the village seems to be nothing. Hoyoung thinks because he will join another dimension of war, he remembers here which is his first village where he played an active part, and he will also keep Maple World, and he decides to eat hot soup with rice (original text: Gukbap) and make his mind. Hoyoung orders a soup with rice, and says he has not seen her in the meantime, her expression got better. She says Hoyoung can eat a lot of soup with rice. Hoyoung asks if she seen Farasi and her letters. She answers she does not saw everything. Hoyoung thinks it is a pity because he can't meet Farasi this time. At this time, Farasi calls Hoyoung. Hoyoung and Farasi eat soup and talk about each other.
