“A free city beside a stream running through a mountain valley. This idyllic town formed around its marketplace and has since become a place where many races live in harmony.”
- ― In-game description for Cheong-woon Valley
Cheong-woon is a town in Grandis's eastern region known for its peaceful and beautiful mountainside village in Cheong-woon Valley. Home to many races, including the Anima, the village is often known as the Free City of Grandis due to its safety from the High Flora and their war of conquest. Cheong-woon is famed for its private investigators, led by an Anima named Kaling at the Information Broker Bureau. In addition, Cheong-woon is home to an order of monks that pray for the village's safety and spiritual health. Hoyoung characters start here upon creation, with their introductory questline centered around capturing the fiends which Hoyoung had inadvertently unleashed after freeing Taotie from his seal. Throughout the storyline, Hoyoung works as a private investigator to recapture the missing fiends, as well as to solve the mystery behind the strange happenings with the monks of Cheong-woon Valley.
This region can be accessed on foot by talking to Seya in Savage Terminal Hub. It is divided into three sections: Crock Territory, Suspicious Gourd Field, and Handsome Monk's Temple. While most classes can access these maps without doing quests, Hoyoung characters slowly gain access to each section as they progress through their introductory questline.
