Placeholder Weapons

Placeholder Weapons (also known as "test weapons" or "glitched weapons") are items used internally to signify a set of items to drop from monsters.
"Armor" weapons signify armor drops and use the appearance of the first piece of armor in the game's data, the Cash item Blue Beanie, while "Weapon" weapons signify weapon drops and use the appearance of the first weapon in the game's data, a Shining Rod utilized during the Luminous tutorial named Dragon Tail Thanatos (which is entirely unrelated to the level 140 Shining Rod of the same name, Dragon Tail Thanatos).
They are not intended to be obtained or equipped, however some have mistakenly dropped from monsters in place of the items from their intended sets after some patches.
They can be equipped by a male character of any class with the exception of Zero (as it cannot equip gender-specific items), but they cannot be used to attack at all.

• Equipping a placeholder weapon sets the player's damage to 0, regardless of any other equipment equipped.
  • Any summons that exist before equipping the weapon will continue to attack for their summoned duration, but will cease to deal any damage to monsters.

• All of the weapons are one-handed weapons, although the player will visually hold them as if they were holding a two handed weapon, this causes all of the "Weapon" weapons to be invisible while standing and walking, as the Shining Rod it's based on is a one-handed weapon and lacks the two-handed animations.

• Despite appearing to be a hat, "Armor" weapons are equipped as weapons, allowing the player to appear to have two hats equipped at once.
