Raven was a master thief and Phantom's mentor.

Story

At an unknown point, Raven became Phantom's mentor in thievery. During his time as Raven's student, Phantom took detailed notes on the skills that he learned. One of the things that Raven taught Phantom was: "Learn a skill once, and you'll forget it next Tuesday, but learn a skill twice and you'll master it for a lifetime". Despite his advice, however, Raven did not sufficiently train himself to disarm a bomb, which resulted in his death. Raven was mourned by Phantom and several unknown others, though his legacy was carried on by Phantom becoming the greatest thief in Maple World.

After Phantom awakened centuries later, he entered his vault in Orbis in order to recover his notes on his second job skills. During this time, he reminisced about Raven and affectionately called him a "crazy old coot". Though he missed his old mentor, he jokingly noted that he was glad that Raven was dead, as he would have otherwise undoubtedly attempted to rob him.
