Devil Clan (CN:魔教 pinyin: Mó jiào), also known as Demonic Sect in MapleSEA, is a villainous organization that operates throughout Jianghu. While little is known about their origins, they serve as a looming threat to Jianghu and have multiple factions throughout the realm.

Story

Xuanshan Faction

Centuries ago, there was a man who devoted himself to protecting the residents of Jianghu by the name of Wu Shen, who used Martial Arts to protect the people of Jianghu. By the end of his life, he had become a god, and he wanted to ensure the safety of Jianghu and its people. To ensure the God of Martial Arts's memory and power would live on, Wu Shen's spirit reincarnated into another child, with many more successors born as the God of Martial Arts over the next few centuries. However, not all of his reincarnations would protect the people of Jianghu, as one of them would serve as the lord of the Devil Clan, causing harm and destruction throughout Jianghu.

Years after this reincarnation died, a student at the Xuanshan School named Mo Xuan would be revealed as the current inheritor of Wu Shen's powers. The Fiendish Matron, leader of the Devil Clan's Xuanshan Faction, learned that one of the students was the inheritor, but didn't know who it was. To find out more, she disguised herself as one of the school lords during a meeting with Shang Yang, the leader of Xuanshan School. During the meeting, Yun Wu, another member of the Xuanshan School and Mo Xuan's teacher, walked nearby and eavesdropped on the conversation, overhearing that Mo Xuan was the inheritor of Wu Shen's powers. Believing that Shang Yeng would replace him with Mo Xuan as teacher at the school, Yun Wu decided to betray Xuanshan School and join the Devil Clan.

After the Fiendish Matron learned about Mo Xuan, she made a plan for the Devil Clan to invade Xuanshan School and kidnap Mo Xuan for Wu Shen's powers. To achieve that, they poisoned the water drank by members of Xuanshan School, which would prevent them from using their powers. Meanwhile, Mo Xuan and Xiao Xiao, another student, returned from their work in Hejin, only to find the school destroyed by a group of soldiers in black, which caused Mo Xuan's mind to be flooded by his past self's memories. Yun Wu would confront and battle Mo Xuan, vowing to steal his powers and becoming an enemy of the school. The next day, when Mo Xuan and Xiao Xiao rescued some kidnapped students from a warehouse, they learned that their powers were stolen by members of the Devil Clan.

During the rebuilding of his school's sect, Mo Xuan decided to find out the secret of his past self. In a small temple nearby, a monk informed Mo Xuan that there was a book about his past self in the Devil Clan's hideout, and the monk agreed to aid in the rebuilding. Struggling with the fact that his past self led the Devil Clan, he was torn about reading it, worrying that he would become like his past self. Later, Feng the Beggar informed Mo Xuan that he found the hideout of Devil Clan in the Spirit's Defile, a forsaken land next to Xuanshan. Mo Xuan decided to take revenge by himself, but Xiao Xiao and the other students Xuanshan School - both old and new - appeared as well to support him. Mo Xuan found Yun Wu waiting for him, now empowered by the Devil Clan. Yun Wu told him about the Fiendish Matron's plan and was still shocked that Mo Xuan had inherited Wu Shen's powers. After a fierce battle where Yun Wu was defeated, Mo Xuan and the other students revealed to Yun Wu that Shang Yeng had never intended to replace him, instead planning to give Yun Wu a higher position at the school. Shocked at the revelation, Yun Wu started to reflect on his poor decision, only to be killed by the Fiendish Matron who had now appeared. She told Mo Xuan that the Devil Clan desired his power and attempted to convince him to become its new leader, which Mo Xuan refused. After another battle, Mo Xuan defeated the Fiendish Matron. In the end, Mo Xuan realized he was completely different from his past self, and chose to burn the book.

During his encounter at Red Moon Forest, Mo Xuan asked the Cool Breeze Village's Chief Totur if the Fiendish Matron was a Demon Lord (CN:魔尊 pinyin: Mó zūn), and Totur confirmed it.

Red Dragon Faction

Despite the defeat of the Fiendish Matron, the remnants of Devil Clan still remains in other parts of Jianghu. In Lian Plateau, a branch of the Devil Clan named the Red Dragon Faction (CN:赤龙队 pinyin: Chì lóng duì) threatens Cool Breeze Village.

Decades ago, an old sage named Gao Yi (CN:高乙 pinyin: Gāo yǐ) had a fierce fight with the evil loong Perron. Although Perron was successfully subdued, Gao Yi was cursed and became younger. A few years ago, a huge light source suddenly appeared in a forest near the Cool Breeze Village after a rainstorm, which would be called Red Moon by the villagers. It is the location where Perron hides along with Malitia, the God of the Devil Clan's Red Dragon Faction.

After the defeat of Malitia, she told everyone the story of Perron and Devil Clan master. The master left a last word on his deathbed and splitted the soul to his miniors known as Demon Lords, and the final purpose is to resurrect the master. Perron was originally an earthworm, but it acquired the power of Devil Clan lord's soul after it showed allegiance. However Perron wasn't satisfied and looking for powerful preys and ruined entire Jianghu. Malitia herself was sacrificed for calming down it's anger.
