Silent Crusade
- For the JapanMS-original version of Silent Crusade, see Cross Brigade Headquarters.

The Silent Crusade (known as Cross Hunter in KoreaMS) is a special branch of the Maple Alliance that exists to collect information from the shadows regarding the Black Mage's return, as well as to fight powerful monsters that appear throughout Maple World. They were originally formed by Empress Aria centuries prior, long before the formation of the Maple Alliance. After Aria's death to the Commanders of the Black Mage's army (specifically Lotus), the Silent Crusade vowed revenge. While they worked in the shadows during the centuries after Aria's death, they became more active with the formation of the Alliance. The Silent Crusade's base is located within Edelstein, with Wence allowing players to re-challenge Lord Skeleton and Master Hoblin for Monster Collection.
Upon release, the Silent Crusade questline had players fight a lot more Field Bosses via Mystic Gates found throughout Maple World. The questline contained 4 chapters: Qualification, Test of Skill, The Long Road, and The Hunter, with each chapter requiring players to travel throughout Maple World and defeat certain bosses. Players only needed to complete Chapter 2: Test of Skill in order to proceed with the quests to unlock the Major Boss Arkarium, with the roster changing a few times.
Crusader Coins could be obtained by hunting Field Bosses found normally and within Mystic Gates, as well as Major Bosses; these coins could be used to purchase various Accessories and Spell Traces via Wence. There was also a Silent Crusade UI window that granted chapter completion rewards, such as Titles and additional Coins, and granting the ability to use the coin shop remotely.
As of April 2023, KoreaMS revamped the Silent Crusade by shortening the questline and removing the Crusader Coin shop, the Silent Crusade UI, and Mystic Gates. Players in possession of Crusader Coins were given a few months to use any remaining coins in the coin shop.

An Alliance member was recruited into the Silent Crusade by an agent named Starling, who worked with them to investigate a crack in time within Perion that led to Sharenian of the past, though the monsters inside were from the present day. After the Alliance member proved their skills, Starling brought them to the Silent Crusade headquarters in Edelstein. Bastille, the leader of the Silent Crusade, explained that their organization had been founded by Empress Aria in order to monitor the activities of the Black Mage and his Commanders. With the Black Mage having broken free from his seal, Bastille explained that the Commanders were starting to resurface.
After the Alliance member joined the Silent Crusade, Bastille revealed that Arkarium was the one responsible for creating the crack in time, with his imperfect time magic being the reason why past Sharenian had been filled with present-day monsters. The Alliance member was then sent to work with another agent named Crow in Leafre, where they were led into a trap by Arkarium's snake minions, who were corrupting the monsters of Maple World in order to keep the Silent Crusade distracted. While the Crusaders fought the monsters, Arkarium was able to create a crack in time within the Temple of Time itself.
The Alliance member entered the Temple of Time, where they met the spirit of Rhinne from the past. Unable to materialize for long while so far from her physical body, Rhinne quickly told the Alliance member that Arkarium planned to go back in time and kill the Heroes before the Black Mage would be sealed away. After entering the crack in time, the Alliance member was surprised to find that they had arrived in Leafre shortly after the Heroes' fight against the Black Mage, despite the fact that Arkarium had intended to travel back even further. While investigating, the Alliance member encountered Maha and an unconscious Aran. The Alliance member helped Maha regain enough of his power to take Aran to Rien. They also encountered Afrien, alongside an unconscious Freud and Mercedes. Afrien revealed that he had taken the Black Mage's curse in Freud's place, and that the curse had also wiped out the Onyx Dragons.
The Alliance member helped Afrien recover his egg, which had shielded the child within from the curse. With the Alliance member's help, Afrien was also able to heal Mercedes, who had been grievously injured. Afrien revealed that Freud had created a barrier that prevented time from flowing back any further than the moment when the Black Mage had been sealed, which was why Arkarium had been unable to go back to the time before the Heroes had sealed the Black Mage away. However, as the Transcendent of Time, Goddess Rhinne had the power to override the barrier, which was why Arkarium intended to steal her powers.
In order to stop him, The Alliance member rushed to the Temple of Time, where the spirit of Rhinne - who was much closer to her physical body in the past - was able to properly materialize at last. Rhinne revealed that Arkarium had intended to kill not just the Heroes, but the Demon as well. However, due to Arkarium's short-sighted jealousy, he had decided not to kill the weakened Heroes when he had the chance, instead choosing to take Rhinne's powers and kill them before the seal would be created. The Alliance member rushed to stop Arkarium, disrupting his ritual to break the seal on Rhinne. A furious Arkarium revealed that after being unable to find the Demon in Leafre, he had decided to take Rhinne's powers and go further in the past to destroy the Demon before his betrayal. Without the Demon turning on the Black Mage and weakening his defensive shields, Arkarium intended for the Heroes to be exhausted while facing the Black Mage at full-strength, which would result in their certain defeat. As Rhinne would be given to Will in the present day, Arkarium had intended to take her powers in the past, where she remained unguarded. However, the Alliance member defeated Arkarium and forced him to retreat, saving both Rhinne and the past.

The Adversary received a mysterious letter that brought them to a strange dimension, where they encountered Rachael the Time Alchemist. Unbeknownst to them, Rachael was a minion of Will and had summoned them to a copy of Mirror World that Will had created with his new powers from the Black Mage. Rachael told the Adversary that she was looking for medicine to save her gravely-ill sister in Mirror World and promised to help the Adversary escape in exchange for their help. She brought the Adversary to Mirror World Mu Lung, where they began collecting ingredients from the monsters there. In exchange, Rachael sent them back to the real world, where they met with Starling and Grendel the Really Old's apprentices, Elwin and Lily.
Starling revealed that more dimensional cracks had begun to appear across Maple World once again, with powerful creatures emerging through. As the cracks had a different energy signature from Arkarium, Starling asked the Adversary to help the Silent Crusade investigate. The Adversary began working with the Crusaders to defeat the monster surging out, with Elwin and Lily using their magic to seal the cracks. They soon discovered that only monsters marked with a red spider-eye were able to leave Mirror World, and that they were getting progressively stronger as time went on.
During their investigation, the Adversary fell through the cracks several times and helped Rachael collect more ingredients in exchange for being sent back to the real world. As they did, they learned that Rachael had once served the creator of Mirror World, who had been holding her sister hostage, though she had broken free from him in order to find a way to heal her sister. The Adversary soon learned that Rachael had been using the monster parts that they had brought to her in order to rebuild her sister into a chimera, assembled from the various monster parts to form a stronger body. This caused the Adversary - along with the Silent Crusade - to wonder whether the chimera was really Rachael's sister, or whether she had simply been lying.
Eventually, Rachael pulled the Adversary into Mirror World and presented her completed 'sister', revealing that it had gone mindless from being fused with so many monsters. When presented with the choice to kill the monster and potentially harm her sister - an innocent party in the entire affair - the Adversary chose to fight her. Upon seeing their decision, Rachael laughed and left them to fight the chimera, revealing that she had lied about everything, including the chimera being her sister. After the Adversary defeated the chimera, they returned back to the Silent Crusade headquarters, where the Crusaders concluded that the cracks had to be the work of a new Commander. Based on Lily and Elwin's additional evidence, they learned that the name of the Commander was Will.
The Adversary also learned that the Silent Crusade had been investigating a powerful and enormous force was flowing through the Temple of Time, and that the Crusaders had decided to formally merge with the Alliance, rather than being an independent sub-organization, as they believed it best to unite as one for the beginning of the end with the Black Mage. Meanwhile, Rachael met with Will and informed him about the Adversary's choice. Believing that their choice was within the expected parameter for the Black Mage's plan to succeed unimpeded when the critical moment came at Esfera, Will recalled his copy of Mirror World and prepared to remain on standby and watch the Adversary's progress until the time of the Genesis Ritual came.

Trivia
- Prior to the KMS Spring 2023 Update (Fall 2023 for Non-KMS Servers), the Silent Crusade had a coin shop via Wence, where players could use
Crusader Coins obtained from Field Bosses, Silent Crusade Bosses, or Major Bosses. Players could purchase items such as Spell Traces (Interactive / Non-Reboot Worlds),
Mysterious Meso Pouches (Heroic / Reboot Worlds), Veteran Crusader Accessories, and the Mystic Set. With the shop's removal, Major Bosses would instead drop bundles of Spell Traces directly, and the Mystic Eye Accessory was added to Laku's shop for
Monster Park Commemorative Coins.
