The Exceptional Enhancement UI

Exceptional Enhancement is a system used to enhance accessories that are part of the Pitched Boss Set and Brilliant Boss Set. It can be accessed by using an Exceptional Hammer or by speaking to the Wandering Blacksmith in certain major towns.

Exceptional Hammers are obtained by defeating certain Extreme Mode bosses. They can be applied 1 time to pieces of the Pitched Boss Set, and 3 times to pieces of the Brilliant Boss Set. The first Exceptional Enhancement on a piece of equipment will have a guaranteed success rate, while the second and third (Brilliant Boss Set) will have reduced success rates, which can be increased by consuming additional Exceptional Hammers and Mesos.

Additionally, players can extract an Exceptional Hammer from a piece of equipment that previously received an Exceptional Enhancement at the cost of 10 billion Mesos. If an equipment item with Exceptional Enhancement applied becomes an Equipment Trace, the Exceptional Enhancement stats are maintained.

Exceptional Hammers

Exceptional Hammers are tradable and can only be used on untradable equipment. There are five types of hammers:

• Exceptional Hammer (Belt): can be used on Dreamy Belt
  • Dropped by Extreme Black Mage
• Exceptional Hammer (Face Acc): can be used on Berserked
  • Dropped by Extreme Chosen Seren
• Exceptional Hammer (Eye Acc): can be used on Magic Eyepatch
  • Dropped by Extreme Kalos the Guardian
• Exceptional Hammer (Earrings): can be used on Commanding Force Earring
  • Dropped by Extreme Kaling
• Exceptional Hammer (Medal): can be used on Immortal Legacy
  • Dropped by Extreme First Adversary
