Lireni is the former Thief Grandmaster of Crimsonwood Keep who deserted her post during the battle against Naricain.

Story (Post-Remaster)

Lireni's storyline was remastered in the Masteria Through Time Update.

Fall of Crimsonwood

After realizing that Naricain would stop at nothing to obtain the Antellion, Crimsonheart took Subani and the Grandmasters to Maple World, where they build Crimsonwood Keep on the continent of Krakia and began fostering positive relationships with the Krakian Empire. Soon after, Lireni learned that there was a mysterious person whom the Krakians called Dr. Krakia, who had been seen around the area. Shortly after, Lukan and a mysterious traveler arrived at the Keep and claimed to have come from the future, adding that Naricain was planning to kill Crimsonheart and take the Antellion. Upon seeing Lireni, Lukan grew angry, as he believed that Lireni would desert shortly after Crimsonheart's death out of cowardice. After Lukan explained that they had traveled back through a Time Portal, Lireni wondered whether Naricain's ally who had built the portal had also been outfitting the native jungle creatures with technology. After Dr. Jang corrupted the native Krakians, she and Naricain led their new army to sack the Keep and seize the Antellion. Terrified at the sight, Lireni attempted to flee, but was stopped by Numenal, who refused to allow her to abandon her duties, reminding her that they held a portion of the Antellion’s power because they had been sworn to protect it at all costs. However, Lireni told Numenal that she had something that she needed to do, and so she couldn’t afford to die so soon. Numenal told Lireni that he hadn’t initially believed Lukan and the traveler when they had spoken of her betrayal, entreating her to fight alongside the Grandmasters for the Antellion and Crimsonheart. However, Lireni merely apologized and brushed past him. Numenal then reminded Lireni that Crimsonheart had ordered traitors to be punished, to which she turned around and invited him to try, claiming that if she were to die, then it was better to die at his hands. Just as she had expected, Numenal was unable to strike her down, allowing her to leave unimpeded.

Lireni's Legacy

Lireni fled Crimsonwood Keep and made her way to the Watchtower, the secret citadel of the Shadowknights. After the fall of the Keep, she ordered the creation of a fleet of ships in order to sail away from the continent. Her decision created much controversy amongst the Shadowknights, many of whom believed Lireni to be a coward. Shortly after the fleet set sail, Crimsonheart sacrificed himself to destroy the Antellion, which created a large flash of light that sank the continent. Its sinking created giant waves that destroyed most of the fleet, along with many priceless Shadowknight records and artifacts. After the destruction of the fleet, the Shadowknights were scattered, no longer holding the ancient code of justice. However, a splinter faction known as the Raven Ninjas continued waiting for the return of Masteria, just as ravens waited for those who had gone, and wandered the seas for centuries. The Raven Ninjas held a copy of Lireni's log, which detailed the history of Crimsonwood Keep. The Raven Ninjas considered Lireni to be a coward and a disgrace to the Shadowknights and resolved to make up for her desertion.

Story (Pre-Remaster)

In the original Masteria storyline, Lireni was a heroine who helped lead the Shadowknights after the fall of Crimsonwood Keep. Though she was not a Grandmaster, she led the Shadowknights on several missions after the fall of the Keep in order to learn why the native Krakians had inexplicably turned on them. During one such mission, she and the Shadowknights entered the Krakian Jungle and discovered the Polis of Krakia, the hidden city of the Krakians. There, she learned that the Krakians had been corrupted by a mysterious man known as the Alchemist. Though it was unknown whether the Shadowknights ever discovered the identity of the Alchemist, they were unable to take action, as one moonless night, a massive vortex had appeared in the skies above Masteria, followed by a blinding flash of light, after which the entire continent had vanished.
