“A warrior who serves Takeda Shingen. As the vanguard commander of Shingen's cavalry, the Akazoe, his crimson armor leaves a strong impression.
Widely acknowledged as Shingen's loyal right-hand man, he frequently quarrels with Naoe Kanetsugu, a retainer of Kenshin, much like how Kenshin and Shingen themselves are both comrades and rivals. Each insists that their own lord is superior, leading to constant bickering.

- Sanada Yukimura is named after a real-life historical figure of the same name during Japan's Sengoku period, a samurai known by many nicknames including "A Hero who may appear once in a hundred years", "Crimson Demon of War" and "The Last Sengoku Hero".
