Satiras, also known as Satiras the Devil Dragon, is an Ancient God who once attempted to conquer Grandis with his followers, the Black Nova.
Story
The Ancient War
In the beginning, the Primordial God made 365 creations - the sun, the moon, the stones, the trees, the wind, the rivers, the seas, and countless others - each adhering to 365 laws that governed the universe. From these 365 creations that made up the world, powerful beings were brought into existence that embodied these natural laws, including Satiras. Over time, these beings were revered as gods by mortals, and ages later, they would be known as the Ancient Gods. Satiras was one of several dragon gods worshiped by the Nova until Satiras, falling to corruption, created a cult of Nova followers called the Black Nova, whom he blessed with the power of Malice. In order to protect the Nova, the remaining Nova gods created a holy relic called the Outrigger, which was installed in the Nova capital of Heliseum. Eventually, the Primordial God - unable to abide the chaos in the universe - created the Overseers to establish order in the universe. To this end, the Overseers tasked the elders of Grandis with creating beings known as the Adversaries. Imbued with the divine power of relics known as the Godspheres, the Adversaries began a war to defeat the Ancient Gods. After a fierce struggle, the Adversaries successfully defeated the Ancient Gods. Following the end of the war, the Overseers created the Transcendents in order to suppress the Ancient Gods, who all fell into dormancy - including Satiras - with the sole exception of Shinsoo.
The Power of Malice
After Satiras fell into slumber, the Black Nova - without their god to protect them - were hunted down by those whom they had subjugated. The surviving cultists eventually made a decision that resulted in their horns, wings, and tails being lost to both them and their descendants, thereby ensuring that they would not be identified as Black Nova. Afterwards, the survivors fled to a remote part of Grandis and founded a hidden village for their people. Despite Satiras's disappearance, however, the Black Nova and their descendants continued to keep their Malice, which grew stronger with their resentment over the ages. Eventually, the Apostle Ypsilon led the High Flora army to the Black Nova village, where he wiped out the villagers before enslaving two Black Nova childen named Luska and Kain. Ypsilon then enslaved the two siblings and founded the Drakas, a mercenary company whom he secretly led as a psychiatrist named Dr. Y. With Luska serving as his puppet leader, Dr. Y was able to extract the Malice inside Kain, allowing him to create Malice Stones, which he used to grow the Drakas. However, after the Drakas fragmented, Dr. Y was left with only a few members, including Luska, though Kain managed to escape and flee to Maple World. Nevertheless, Dr. Y continued observing Kain's Malice as he used Luska's Malice for his own purposes.
Reawakening of the Gods
Shortly after the death of the Black Mage - the last Transcendent of Maple World - Maple World and Grandis fused back into one, just as they had been during the age of the gods. With their convergence, the Ancient Gods began reawakening in the absence of the Transcendents. During the Dark Sea storyline, however, Kain gets exclusive dialogue, in which he notes that through the power of Malice, he can sense that Satiras still has not woken from his seal yet.
