Skill Rings
As their name suggests, Skill Rings are a special variety of rings that can confer unique skills when equipped. These skills can provide a variety of different temporary effects, such as more damage, stronger defenses, or more experience points from defeated monsters.
Special Skill Rings
Special Skill Rings, colloquially referred to as Oz Rings or Seed Rings can be obtained from
Boss Ring Boxes dropped by various bosses, and are named after their original source, the Tower of Oz. Most Special Skill Rings' skills provide short but powerful damage buffs, while the remaining few provide unique forms of utility.
Only one Special Skill Ring can be equipped at a time, however they can be swapped between each other just like any other equipment, even if their respective skill is on cooldown. Outside of combat, double clicking a ring in Equip inventory will exchange it for the ring equipped in the default ring slot, although dragging and dropping to other ring slots is possible. Instead, Swap Rings can be used to switch between two Special Skill Rings in any state of combat. In addition to the individual skills granted by Special Skill Rings, a second skill named Ring Activation can be used to activate the effects of the currently equipped Special Skill Ring, if available. If Swap Rings is used, Ring Activation goes on a 10 second cooldown even if it was previously not on cooldown.
Obtaining a Special Skill Ring from a Boss Ring Box will grant it a pre-determined level between 1 and 4, with higher levels providing much stronger effects. Certain rings are eligible to be upgraded from Level 4 to Level 5 with a
Grindstone of Life, and from Level 5 to Level 6 with a
Grindstone of Faith, dropped by certain bosses.

Optimal Usage
Generally, the most optimal usage for Special Skill Rings is to either alternate between a
Ring of Restraint (RoR) and a
Weapon Jump Ring (WJ) during the two-minute and one-burst window respectively, or simply equip a
Continuous Ring and burst while its buff is active. Note that Continuous Ring requires a 2 minute preparation time after it is equipped before its damage effect becomes active, therefore it effectively cannot be swapped into during an encounter without a large amount of downtime. However, it can still be swapped out of into another ring, which can be leveraged in situations such as during Sharenian Culvert or Punch King-style events.
The efficacy between using an RoR/WJ set-up or a Continuous Ring depends on a class's damage profile, whether the encounter is being done alone or as a party, and the encounter itself.
- Classes with strong burst damage and comparatively weaker off-burst damage will prefer RoR/WJ to further amplify the strongest aspects of their damage profile.
- Certain bosses' designs encourage players to burst during specific times, which heavily encourage the use of Ring of Restraint. This is either because the boss can only be meaningfully damaged during specific times, or to skip difficult phases. Examples include:
- Lucid's third phase, where she must be defeated within 40 seconds.
- Gloom and Guardian Angel Slime, who can only be meaningfully damaged during brief windows of time.
- Kalos's second phase, where parties often distribute their burst damage across each of his health thresholds.
- Kaling's second phase and Black Mage's first phase, which parties often attempt to brute force with burst damage due to their notable difficulty.
- Party play often prefer RoR/WJ, as coordinated burst allows party members to stack each other's damage buffs onto each other to further amplify damage.
Hyperspace Rings
Hyperspace Rings can be obtained from Hyperspace Boxes from the Hyperspace Cube dungeon, which is unlocked after completing the Stellar Detectives Epic.
Each type of Hyperspace Ring are split across four different levels from one to four, with higher levels providing much stronger effects. Hyperspace Rings are obtained at level 1, and can be upgraded through the use of Ascension Modules. Note that each character can only receive five Ascension Modules at most, therefore at most only a single level 4 ring and a level 3 ring can ever be acquired.
The same type of Hyperspace Ring cannot be equipped even if they are of different levels, but different types of Hyperspace Rings can be equipped in tandem.
