Sellas, Where the Stars Rest is an area in the Arcane River near Esfera. It is the third side area in the Arcane River, and as such does not have its own Arcane Symbol. Following the mission to Esfera, Neinheart asks the player to lead a last-minute operation to recover an object that Tana had dropped into the Origin Sea, believing that it may help the Alliance in the final battle.

This region can be accessed on foot via Slumbering Deep in Esfera. It is generally divided into three sections: The Final Edge of Light, Plunging Depths, and Star-Swallowing Sea, with each section being unlocked as you progress through the questline. Each section requires a certain amount of Arcane Power to deal normal damage to the monsters here, with The Final Edge of Light requiring 600, Plunging Depths requiring 640, and Star-Swallowing Sea requiring 670.

Completing the questline will reward the  Explorer Diving Helmet hat and 20  Arcane Symbol Selector Coupons. All Esfera and Sellas monsters (excluding Flying / Anti-AFK monsters) will drop  Stone Origin Droplets at a very low chance; in Heroic Worlds, Moonbridge, Labyrinth of Suffering, and Limina monsters will also drop these. Stone Origin Droplets and  Stone Cobweb Droplets (dropped by Will) can be exchanged for  Arachno Coins at a 9:1 ratio by talking to Kanto in Base Camp, and these are subsequently used to purchase Level 200 Arcane Umbra Weapons, Hats, Overalls, and Shoulders from Dimo.

Some time after the fusion of the Black Moon and White Sun, Neinheart contacted the Adversary and told them that the Alliance was running an urgent, special operation before advancing on Tenebris. He explained that an object in Tana's possession had been dropped into the Origin Sea while pulling her from the water. As it had belonged to the Transcendent of Light, Neinheart believed that it was worth recovering. Together with Ollie and Shubert, the Adversary used a submarine called the Jellyfish to descend into Sellas, the watery region beneath Esfera. Throughout the mission, Shubert continued watching out for Ollie, haunted by his traumatic memories of his last diving operation in Edelstein, in which his crew had sent him to safety, leaving him as the only survivor. As a result of his fears, the Erdas in Sellas began responding to his memories, creating wreckage and audio messages from his time with the Edelstein diving unit. After Ollie was lost during the mission, Shubert told the Adversary that he feared her becoming a “star”, which was what lost divers were known as. Together, the Adversary and Shubert worked together to save Ollie. During this time, the Adversary also recovered Tana's necklace which Jean had given her, with a shattered anti-magic jewel attached to it. After examining it, Neinheart noted that Tana must have considered it to be precious. He also noted that the fact that it was glowing brightly in response to its owner meant that they may one day be able to reach her.

Trivia

• The term "Sellas" (the name in non-MSEA servers) is derived from Σέλας (sélas), the Greek word for aurora.
