Amherst is an area in eastern Maple Island. It is a town where Explorer Beginners can purchase weapons and general goods, The town chief Lucas grants players the Maple Return skill upon reaching [Explorer] Level 20, which allows players to travel back to Maple Island. Explorer characters travel here from Maple Tree Hill to talk to Mai the training instructor and receive a boat ticket from Southperry] to Victoria Island. Nearby is the Adventurer Training Center, led by Mai, which allows players to fight weaker versions of various monsters on Victoria Island. The next map over is the Split Road of Destiny, where the Explorer Job Instructors wait to give Beginners a preview of each Explorer class to see what awaits them.

The town can be accessed on foot via Maple Tree Hill and Southperry, which can be only accessed by Explorers by using the Maple Return skill or talking to Olaf in Lith Harbor. It has only one section: Adventurer Training Center.

• The name Amherst is likely derived from from Amherst Island, within the northern Canadian Arctic. Similarly, Victoria Island is likely derived from Victoria Island.
