Masters Killian and LeFay are one of the bosses in the Crimsonwood / Phantom Forest region of Masteria.

Story (Post-Remaster)

Masters Killian and LeFay's storyline was remastered in the Glory Update.

Killian was a powerful Versalian Warrior who fought in the great war alongside his lover, the sorceress LeFay. Unfortunately, many masters of the Keep include LeFay ended up exposed to Naricain's Blood, a powerful substance created by Dr. Jang in the past with the ability to brainwash and mutate anyone that comes in contact with it. Killian witnessed this and was blinded by his rage, striking friends and foes alike, with his rampage only stopped once Crimsonheart himself intervened. However, Killian and LeFay were both resurrected in the Phantom Forest, where Killian's rage continues to persist as he approaches and attacks anyone lost in the forest.

Story (Pre-Remaster)

Prior to Masteria's 1,000-year disppearance, the Horseman was once known as a man named Killian, one of the most powerful warriors of Crimsonwood Keep. He was capable of slaying entire armies singlehandedly, even if he would accidentally harm his allies in the crossfire. His weapon of choice was a custom spear, and he mastered the element of fire, using it to augment his spear. Occasionally in battle, he would engulf his head in flames to instill fear in his foes without being hurt by the burns. Despite being a fearsome fome in the battlefield, he lived his life normally within Crimsonwood Keep, and was even in love with a chaotic but charismatic sorceress by the name of LeFay, with the two of them bonding despite having different personalities. Killian would continue to visit LeFay even after he left the Keep to live in a remote part of the Krakian Jungle. After the Krakians were brainwashed and started attacking Crimsonwood Keep, a war ensued, preventing Killian from visiting LeFay and causing his rage to increase. The Warrior Grandmaster, concerned for Killian and the safety of the Keep, ordered Killian to visit her. Killian fought his way through hoardes of Krakian warriors, only to find LeFay's home in flames. A group of Krakians were capturing and placing her onto a torture device as the mysterious Alchemist observed, possibly smitten with LeFay himself. Killian, blinded by rage, charged ahead, destroying any Krakians in his path as he approached the Alchemist. However, the Alchemist overpowered Killian with little effort, lifting him into the air.

The Alchemist was intrigued by Killian's mastery over fire and offered him an ultimatum: become the Alchemist's test subject or watch LeFay die. Killian begrudgingly agreed, and the Alchemist took both of them to the Polis of Krakia, his base at the heart of the Krakian Jungle. The Alchemist conducted experiments on Killian for over two years, learning how Killian mastered fire and using that to create a new army of Krakian warriors augmented by fire. Not satisfied with the results, he figured his army needed a leader, and ordered Killian to lead the army in the war against the Keep. Forced to either fight his allies and destroy his home, or witness his lover be killed, he took a third option: he used his remaining power to engulf himself in flames once more to burn off his own head. The Alchemist was not stopped by this, choosing to find a pumpkin to serve as his new head. By forcing LeFay to cast a special spell along with his own impressive technology, he was able to bring this new creature to life: a being with lack of fear or empathy, and powered by rage. He dubbed his creation the Headless Horseman. The Alchemist, having mastered LeFay's chaotic magic for himself, had no use for her anymore and turned into into a pink horse which would serve as the Horseman's steed; in a ironic twist of fate, Killian and LeFay would be united forever, albeit serving as minions for the Alchemist. He sent the duo into battle, which served as one of the turning points in Crimsonwood Keep's fall, as the Headless Horseman was nearly unstoppable in battle. A magician known as Rafael casted a spell on the Headless Horseman, causing him to eternally scour the Phantom Forest in search for a head that no longer exists.
