Akechi Mitsuhide
He committed countless atrocities in Oda's name. For the sake of assisting Oda's Rite of the Sixth Demon King, he annihilated the Matsuyama family and even abducted Princess Sakuno as an offering.
On the very night the ritual was to be performed, however, he betrayed Oda Nobunaga. Since the ritual failed, he was transferred to Maple World along with Akatsuki and the Oda Army.
He had been indiscriminately attacking various factions across Maple World, sowing chaos and making enemies of countless people, but later aided our Akatsuki in assaulting Oda's Sura Castle, only to turn against them again at the final moment, mocking both sides.
It is said that he betrayed Oda after becoming disillusioned with Oda's relentless warmongering even after conquering the land, and declared that he would oppose anyone who sought to start war. Yet his nature is one of constant betrayal toward those who do not align with his will, contempt for the weak, and arrogance that disregards the world turning against him. He is truly a wolf-like figure who must always be watched with caution.”

Akechi Mitsuhide is the final boss of the Fort Asura questline.
Battle Overview
Akechi Mitsuhide can be fought in Normal mode. You must be in a party of 1 - 6 players in order to fight him, and each player will have a Death Count of 5. If all players reach 0 lives, then the battle will end and the party will be kicked out of the boss fight. The battle has a time limit of 30 minutes, and a Potion Cooldown of 5 seconds is applied.
There are two phases. Any players that die will decrease the timer by 100 seconds. All attacks deal % HP damage, so they must be manually avoided, as it ignores any avoidability stats, and damage reduction skills (unless the skill is specifically stated to include damage proportional to HP). Most attacks use a formula that factors in the player's Defense (needs to be researched). Also note that he can cast Damage Reflect, and this cannot be removed by Magic Crash.
All Phases
- Cruel Brand: All players will have a brand stack of 30, which is shown above them or as the buff with a flower icon in the buff window. Every time the player is hit by any of Mitsuhide's attacks, their stack will increase by 1. Every 5 seconds of not getting hit will decrease the stack by 1. If any players reach 30 brands, Mitsuhide will cast a full map attack that deals 100% HP damage to all players in the map.
- Frenzy: All players will have a debuff that appears as an icon of Mitsuhide in their buff window. It starts at 1 and increases by one every successful Provoke has been passed. Every stack will increase Mitsuhide's damage by 5% and decrease your damage given by 5%. This stack is capped at 20.
- Provoke: Mitsuhide will wag his finger tauntingly, inflicting all players with a debuff that lasts 30 seconds and can be seen in the buff window. During this time, you will deal 10% more damage but also receive 15% more damage. If players do not deal 20 billion damage to Mitsuhide by the time the debuff ends, he will cast Overwhelm. If players succeed otherwise (indicated by Mitsuhide saying Hm! Perhaps there's some fight in you after all!), he will instead cast Damage Reflect for 15 seconds, which will deal 2,000 damage to the player for every attack that lands on Mitsuhide, as well as increase all players' Frenzy stack by 1. If Mitsuhide is bound after Provoke has ended, Overwhelm is cast regardless, but the Damage Reflect and Frenzy stack increase will only occur right after he is unbound. Note that he will cast Damage Reflect twice and then retaliate with the Counterattack bind rather than Counterattack first and then Damage Reflect.
- Overwhelm: If players fail to pass Provoke, this debuff is applied to them for 30 seconds, represented as a buff with a wolf icon on it in the buff window. The background will darken, the BGM will change, players will deal 20% less damage and take 20% more damage, and a barrage of Mitsuhide phantoms (also known as Swordsman's Echos) will be summoned. They are indicated by a warning mark on the ground, and then they will appear and slam down on the spot, dealing % HP damage equivalent to (30% HP - Player Defense) × 0.55 and inflicting players with Slow for up to 3 seconds; this Slow debuff seals all mobility-related skills like Teleport, Flash Jump, and dashing skills, which can easily lead to Cruel Brands being stacked very high if hit by too many phantoms in succession, and the only way to block this debuff is via Hero's Will or other identical skills right before getting struck. The phantoms are summoned in a pattern of either a continuous amount of them spawned in succession, or 2 or 3 are summoned at once. An up jump will not attain enough height to dodge this attack, so skills like Blink must be used to reach the optimal height if any players want to avoid the phantoms in this manner. Also note that Mitsuhide will still attack as normal while this debuff is ongoing, so extreme caution must be exercised to avoid getting Cruel Brands capped.
- Counterattack: This occurs every time Mitsuhide is bound or if a player dies. Mitsuhide will strike all players with a counterattack that deals 20% HP damage three times and binds them for 5 seconds, and increases Frenzy by 1. Then he will immediately follow up with a 15 second Damage Reflect.
Phase 1
- Upper Stab: Mitsuhide swings his sword in front of him upwards, knocking all players into the air and dealing % HP damage equivalent to (33% HP - Player Defense) × 0.55. All players in the air will not be able to move or use any skills (barring a few Flash Jump skills, where some classes are still allowed to use it despite being in this state). An up jump will not attain enough height to dodge this attack, so skills like Blink must be used to reach the optimal height to dodge this attack. Only skills that grant knockback immunity (e.g. Ethereal Form or Impenetrable Skin) can resist the upwards knockback. This attack has a 2 second cooldown.
- Aerial Slam: Mitsuhide will jump up, disappear, then reappear and slam down onto the ground, dealing % HP damage equivalent to (90% HP - Player Defense) × 0.55. There will be a warning mark to indicate where he will land right after he disappears. This attack has a 15 second cooldown.
- Spinning Slash: Mitsuhide will mark a large area in front of him and a small area behind him. After a few seconds, he will execute a spinning slash that deals % HP damage equivalent to (50% HP - Player Defense) × 0.55 and applies Super Knockback. This attack has a 8 second cooldown.
- Sword Beam: If the player is too far away from Mitsuhide, he will say "Don't you turn your back on me!", and then prepare an attack. He will then execute a large slash, spawning a large slash projectile that travels across the entire map, dealing % HP damage equivalent to (150% HP - Player Defense) × 0.55. The hitbox is higher than the projectile itself, so an up jump will not attain enough height to dodge this attack. Skills like Blink must be used to reach the optimal height to dodge this attack if any player is unable to get behind Mitsuhide to dodge it. This has a 30 second cooldown.
- Back Jump: If any players are overlapping with Mitsuhide, he will do a giant backwards leap to avoid them. This has a 17 second cooldown.
All Frenzy stacks will be removed upon clearing Phase 1.
Phase 2
Mitsuhide will begin incorporating his phantoms into some of his attacks, each of which deals % HP damage equivalent to (30% HP - Player Defense) × 0.55.
- Upper Stab: Same as in Phase 1, but deals % HP damage equivalent to (33% HP - Player Defense) × 0.55 and has a 7 second cooldown instead of a 2 second cooldown.
- Aerial Slam: Identical to Phase 1, but this time Mitsuhide will immediately dive down towards the targeted player. After landing, there will be a hitbox that remains at the spot where he landed for a few seconds. Stepping in it will deal % HP damage equivalent to (80% HP - Player Defense) × 0.55. This attack has a 15 second cooldown.
- Back Jump: Same as Phase 1, but he summons a phantom in his place.
- Sword Beam: Same as Phase 1.
- Giant Slam: Mitsuhide will mark the ground in front of him, spawn a phantom around him that will attack, and then finally slam down his sword on the marked area. Deals 70% HP damage and applies Super Knockback. This attack has a 30 second cooldown.
- Slash Barrage: Mitsuhide summons three phantoms in a line in front of him, then follows up with a barrage of slashing that reaches where the last phantom is. Deals 16% HP damage 6 times (totaling to 96% HP damage), but this can lead to an instant kill if not careful due to factors such as Provoke or Frenzy. This attack has a higher hitbox than shown, so precise timing with up jump is required to dodge if players are unable to get behind Mitsuhide or run far enough out of range. This attack has a 40 second cooldown.
