Character Progression

  • Experience, the main way to progress and level up in the game, acquired by defeating monsters and completing quests.
  • Professions, a way to craft equipment and usables.
  • Maple Achievement, which records your character's achievements and progression.
  • Interactive and Heroic worlds, which offer different progression methods.

Hunting

Main article: Monster
  • Runes, which appear in monster maps to give boosts.
  • Treasure Hunter, treasure boxes which appear in monster maps and reward large amounts of EXP.
  • Monster Collection, a system that tracks monsters and allows you to send collections out on an Exploration to receive rewards.

Equipment Enhancement

  • Scrolls and Spell Traces, denoted by upgrade slots on most equipment.
  • Star Force Enhancement, denoted by stars above equipment after all of its upgrade slots are used.
  • Bonus Stats, additional stat values that can be added to equipment displayed as lime-green text next to each stat.
  • Potential, including bonus potential, which can be revealed using the magnifying glass icon in the inventory and is displayed at the bottom of the equipment tooltip.
  • Soul Weapons, an upgrade system using souls that is available for Weapons
