For the scrapped Random Portal that would have appeared in the Crimsonwood / Phantom Forest region, see Treasure Hunter Portals.

Treasure Hunter is a system added in the Assemble / Every Little Thing Every Precious Thing Update that replaces Bounty Hunter Portals. While hunting monsters near your level (20 levels below and 20 levels above), there is a small chance for a Treasure Box to appear on the map, indicated by one of the Treasure Hunter siblings Pollo, Fritto, or Especia appearing on the bottom right of the screen. The Treasure Box type will depend on which sibling appears: a Gold Treasure Box will spawn if either Pollo or Fritto appear, while a Diamond Treasure Box will spawn if Especia appears.

By default, the Treasure Box will start at a rank of Rare, and there is a chance for the box's rank to increase when attacking. Once the Treasure Box is destroyed, it will drop a Gem that grants a large amount of EXP when picked up. The Treasure Box will stay on the map until destroyed, but it will disappear if you die or leave the map. Treasure Boxes can appear up to 10 times a day, even if they are not destroyed. The chance for a Gold Box to appear is estimated to be approximately 90%, and the chance for a Diamond Box to appear is estimated to be approximately 10%. The chance for a box's rank to increase is estimated to be approximately 50% for each rank.[1]

The Gold Treasure Box's rank can increase at a chance based on the average level of the monsters in the map:

  • Level 140 and above: Can be upgraded up to Epic
  • Level 170 and above: Can be upgraded up to Unique
  • Level 200 and above: Can be upgraded up to Legendary

The Diamond Treasure Box can only appear in maps where the monsters are Level 230 and above.

The amount of EXP given by the Gem is multiplied by the average EXP given by the monsters in the map (excluding Field Bosses and Anti-AFK mobs). It is not affected by EXP multipliers and does not count towards sources that require EXP from monsters, such as Arcane Stones. It can be increased via certain Sunny Sundays and events.
