Bounty Hunter Portals were a type of Random Portal that could spawn while hunting in most normal monster maps. Entering a portal would allow you to meet one of the three bounty hunter siblings Pollo, Fritto, or Especia, who would take you on an adventure for additional EXP based on your level and the monsters in your current hunting map. Regular Bounty Hunter Portals could be entered up to 15 times per character per day, Especia's Bounty Hunter Portal could be entered up to 5 times per character per day, and the Defeat the Inferno Wolf Portal could be entered up to 5 times per character per day.

It was available in all servers, but it was replaced with Treasure Hunter as of the Assemble / Every Little Thing Every Precious Thing Update. With its removal, the unique monsters found in Monster Collection can be registered at set probabilities by purchasing a Bounty Hunter's Monsterbloom from Laku in Monster Park for 150 Monster Park Commemorative Coins each (up to 5 per week per world).

Portals

Pollo

Pollo's portals were focused on battling monsters head-on, leading to high EXP. The Mob EXP inside each portal could be increased with EXP multiplier effects. The portals were as follows:

  • Bounty Hunt / Protect Pollo: This portal would require you to protect Pollo from 5 waves of monsters. Pollo would have a certain amount of HP, and you would be kicked out if Pollo's HP ran out. The waves would get more difficult, but reward higher EXP as you progress.
  • Guard the Castle Gates: This portal would require you to protect a castle from 3 waves of monsters that spawn on the top left and bottom right, walking toward the gates on the opposite sides of the map. Each monster that reached a gate would take away 1 life point, and you would be kicked out if all 20 were taken away.. The waves would get more difficult, but reward higher EXP as you progress.
  • Stormwing Base / Catch the Stormwing: This portal would require you to hunt the legendary Stormwing, which soars throughout the map, while attacking swarms of other monsters that respawn quickly. Up to 5 Stormwings would spawn, and your goal was to defeat them all within the time limit; you would start with 30 seconds on the timer, and every Stormwing defeated would add an additional 6 seconds to the timer. The other monsters respawned until 200 monsters were eliminated, after which the monsters would stop respawning and you would be sent out after 4 seconds. Every now and then, a Nyalmo would spawn for extra EXP.
  • Midnight Hunt: Added in the RISE Update, this portal would have you mount Pollo's machine tank and eliminate monsters charging toward you from the right. You could attack using the Interact / Harvest / NPC Chat key, and up to 150 monsters could be eliminated. In the first iteration, the tank had a slow attack with a large range, and Jagged Stones that would inflict Stun if you touched them. The portal was changed in May 2020 (KMS) / Autumn 2020 (non-KMS servers) to its second iteration, where the tank had a faster attack with shorter range, removed the Jagged Stones, and removed the ability to jump. This portal was removed in October 2020 (KMS) and the first quarter of 2021 (non-KMS servers).

Pollo also had the following special portal:

  • Inferno Wolf's Den / Defeat the Inferno Wolf: This portal would be orange instead of yellow and have the Inferno Wolf's face on top. Upon entering this portal, you would have 20 seconds to deal as much damage to the Inferno Wolf as possible, with the Wolf's HP shared among all characters in the same world. Depending on your level, you would encounter different Inferno Wolf types: Level 10 - 199 players would fight Normal Inferno Wolf (green), Level 200 - 259 players would fight Chaos Inferno Wolf (orange), and Level 260+ players would fight Extreme Inferno Wolf (purple). After the 20-second timer ran out, you would be sent to the exit map where you would be rewarded with a certain amount of EXP based on the monster in your map that spawned the portal. Once the Inferno Wolf is defeated, Pollo would contact you via a lightbulb to hand you a Hunter's Pouch reward based on the damage dealt. If the wolf is defeated while you are in the map (whether by you or another player), everyone in the map at that moment will receive the Defeat rank, regardless of how much damage you dealt. The wolf would die automatically after 1 hour if it was not defeated in time.
The EXP and Hunter Pouch rewards for Normal Inferno Wolf were as follows:
  • Moderate: 400x Mob EXP (upon exit) and Intermediate Hunter Pouch x 1
  • Substantial: 700x Mob EXP (upon exit) and Intermediate Hunter Pouch x 1 + Advanced Hunter Pouch x 1 (upon defeat)
  • Incredible: 750x Mob EXP (upon exit) and Super Advanced Hunter Pouch x 1 (upon defeat)
  • Defeat: 800x Mob EXP and Super Advanced Hunter Pouch x 1
The EXP and Hunter Pouch rewards for Chaos Inferno Wolf were as follows:
  • Moderate: 600x Mob EXP (upon exit) and Intermediate Hunter Pouch x 1
  • Substantial: 1,100x Mob EXP (upon exit) and Intermediate Hunter Pouch x 1 + Advanced Hunter Pouch x 1 (upon defeat)
  • Incredible: 1,200x Mob EXP (upon exit) and Super Advanced Hunter Pouch x 1 (upon defeat)
  • Defeat: 1,300x Mob EXP and Super Advanced Hunter Pouch x 1
The EXP and Hunter Pouch rewards for Extreme Inferno Wolf were as follows:
  • Moderate: 800x Mob EXP (upon exit) and Intermediate Hunter Pouch x 1
  • Substantial: 1,500x Mob EXP (upon exit) and Intermediate Hunter Pouch x 1 + Advanced Hunter Pouch x 1 (upon defeat)
  • Incredible: 1,600x Mob EXP (upon exit) and Super Advanced Hunter Pouch x 1 (upon defeat)
  • Defeat: 1,700x Mob EXP and Super Advanced Hunter Pouch x 1

Fritto

Fritto's portals were focused on tackling enemies from afar and strategizing rather than battling monsters head-on. Rather than rewarding EXP directly from monsters, you would be rewarded with a certain amount of EXP based on the monster in your map that spawned the portal. The portals were as follows:

  • Eagle Hunt: This portal would require you to eliminate Eagles with a 30-second timer and 20 bullets. There would be 6 Eagles (50 points each), 3 Black Eagles (100 points each), 2 Gold Eagles (200 points each), and 4 Bald Eagles (-50 points each), and you need to shoot all the eagles with the left mouse button while avoiding the Bald Eagles. Once all the non-Bald Eagles were eliminated, the timer ran out, or your bullets ran out, you would receive EXP and Hunter Pouches based on your score, up to 1,000 points. The EXP and Hunter Pouch rewards were as follows:
    • 50 - 300 points: 240x Mob EXP and Basic Hunter Pouch x 1
    • 350 - 600 points: 480x Mob EXP and Intermediate Hunter Pouch x 1
    • 650 - 950 points: 720x Mob EXP Intermediate Hunter Pouch x 2
    • 1,000 points: 1,200x Mob EXP and Advanced Hunter Pouch x 1
  • Egg Stealing: This portal would have a total of 6 floors and a Dragon Egg at the very top. Each floor would have 2 portals, but only one of them would take you to the next floor, while the other would cause you to fail the mission, relying entirely on luck. If you make it to the top, click the Dragon Egg to complete the mission. You would receive EXP and Hunter Pouches based on the highest floor you manage to reach, with the best reward given if you retrieve the egg. The EXP and Hunter Pouch rewards were as follows:
    • Stay on the 1st floor: Basic Hunter Pouch x 1 and 240x Mob EXP
    • Reach the 2nd floor: Intermediate Hunter Pouch x 1 and 480x Mob EXP
    • Reach the 3rd floor: Intermediate Hunter Pouch x 2 and 720x Mob EXP
    • Reach the 4th floor: Advanced Hunter Pouch x 1 and 1,200x Mob EXP
    • Reach the 5th floor: Advanced Hunter Pouch x 2 and 1,680x Mob EXP
    • Reach the top and steal the egg: Super Advanced Hunter Pouch x 1 and 2,400x Mob EXP
  • Courtship Dance: This portal would have Fritto dressed like a chicken, trying to distract the other chickens as you help him steal their eggs. You would have a time limit of 60 seconds to enter a total of 10 arrow key combinations that appear on the screen. The arrow key combinations would require you to enter a total of 75 inputs (4, 6, 7, 7, 7, 8, 8, 8, 10, and 10). You would receive EXP and Hunter Pouches based on the number of key combinations you successfully entered. The EXP and Hunter Pouch rewards were as follows:
    • Enter 0 key combos: Nothing
    • Enter 1 - 2 key combos: 240x Mob EXP and Basic Hunter Pouch x 1
    • Enter 3 - 5 key combos: 480x Mob EXP and Basic Hunter Pouch x 1 + Intermediate Hunter Pouch x 1
    • Enter 6 - 7 key combos: 720x Mob EXP and Intermediate Hunter Pouch x 2
    • Enter 8 - 9 key combos: 960x Mob EXP and Advanced Hunter Pouch x 1
    • Enter 10 key combos: 1,200x Mob EXP and Advanced Hunter Pouch x 2
  • Treasure Catch: Added in the RISE Update, this portal would have Fritto throwing treasure from atop a cliff, and the falling speed of each item would vary. You would have a 60-second timer to collect as much treasure as you can, with each piece of treasure granting a certain amount of points while rocks would decrease your points. The items thrown by Fritto would be Meat (50 points each), Gold Sacks (100 points each), Crystals (150 points each), Treasure Chests (300 points each), and Rocks (-100 points each). Once you reached 2,000 points or the timer ran out, you would receive EXP and Hunter Pouches based on your score, up to 2,000 points. This portal was removed in May 2022 (KMS) and the third/fourth quarter of 2022 (non-KMS servers). The EXP and Hunter Pouch rewards were as follows:
    • 50 - 450 points: 240x Mob EXP and Basic Hunter Pouch x 1
    • 500 - 950 points: 480x Mob EXP and Basic Hunter Pouch x 1 + Intermediate Hunter Pouch x 1
    • 1,000 - 1,450 points: 720x Mob EXP Intermediate Hunter Pouch x 2
    • 1,500 - 1,950 points: 960x Mob EXP Advanced Hunter Pouch x 1
    • 2,000 points: 1,200x Mob EXP and Advanced Hunter Pouch x 2

Especia

Especia's portal, introduced in the Ignition Update, allowed players to play a single mini-game for very high EXP. The Mob EXP inside each portal could be increased with EXP multiplier effects. The portal was as follows:

  • Totem Slash: In this portal, a meter would appear with a yellow portion surrounded by two red portions, and a sword quickly moving back and forth along the bar. The objective was to destroy all 30 totems as fast as possible by pressing the Interact / Harvest / NPC Chat key to stop the sword from moving briefly and destroy a certain number of totems. Hitting outside the red and yellow portions gave a "Good" result and destroyed 1 totem, hitting the red portion gave a "Great" result and destroyed 2 totems, and hitting the yellow portion gave a "Perfect" result and destroyed 4 totems. The player was awarded 39.47 times the Mob EXP for each totem destroyed, with a "Great" and "Perfect" result giving 78.94 and 157.88 times the monster EXP, respectively. A maximum of 1,184.1 times the Mob EXP was possible before EXP multiplier effects. At a 2% chance upon entering the portal, 6 random totems would be replaced with Gold Totems in a given run, giving 50% more EXP than a regular totem, or 59.205 times the base EXP of monsters in the map the player entered from, bringing the total EXP reward to 1,302.51 times the Mob EXP before EXP multiplier effects.

Trivia

  • Pollo frito translates to fried chicken in Spanish.
    • With the addition of especia, which translates to spiced or spicy in Spanish, the names combine to pollo fritto especia, or spicy fried chicken.
  • As of the Ignition Update, the Stormwing, Inferno Wolf, all 4 Eagles, and all 5 Totems are included in Monster Collection.
  • The Totem Slash minigame is inspired by Daruma Otoshi, a traditional Japanese game where the player must hit a stack of blocks with a wooden hammer.
