Alchemy is one of the five Professions of MapleStory. Players who have learned Herbalism and wish to pursue Alchemy can talk to Ally in Ardentmill to become an Alchemist.

Alchemists use flower oils and seed oils to make potions and pills of various types, including Recovery Potions, Buff Potions, and Transformation Potions. Some of the most noteworthy potions crafted by Alchemists are EXP Accumulation Potion to increase EXP obtained and Wealth Acquisition Potion / Small Wealth Acquisition Potion to increase Item and Meso Drop Rates. Once Alchemists reach Master Craftsman rank, they are able to craft special potions that can increase Damage, Boss Damage, All Stats, or Ignored Enemy Defense by a certain amount, as well as lower tier Bags. Upon reaching Meister rank, Alchemists can enhance these special potions to be more potent and enhance bags to carry more items.

Blacksmiths are able to craft certain items from each the following item categories. Certain items require a physical recipe to be crafted.

• Secret Potions and Pills
• Recovery Potions and Pills
• Buff Potions and Pills
• Transform Potions
• Extractors
• Bags

Level 1 - 6

Level 7 - Meister

Additionally, Alchemists can extract up to 30 Equipment items at once to receive Item Crystals or Philosopher's Stones, or fuse 2 of the same Equipment at once. Alchemists can also craft Extractors for other players to use, allowing them to extract items anywhere. Upon reaching Master Craftsman rank, Alchemists also gain the ability to also extract Cubes, Rebirth Flames, Recipes, and Scrolls, as well as Cube Extractors and Scroll Extractors for other players to do the same.
