Romeo and Juliet is a Party Quest located in Nihal Desert's Magatia region. This Party Quest can be started by talking to either Romeo in Zenumist - Hidden Room <Entrance Map> or Juliet in Alcadno - Hidden Room <Entrance Map>; it can be accessed by talking to Romeo or Juliet in Spiegelmann's Guest House within the Dimensional Mirror, as well as via portals at Zenumist Society and Alcadno Society respectively.
The objective of Romeo and Juliet is to help bring together Romeo or Juliet (depending on who you choose), two lovers separated by their factions as alchemists, and figure out why their two factions are disputing.
Stages
Stage 1
| Mysterious Lab |
For the first stage, you and your party members will need to search for a button in shining patches of light around the map, among the various books, stairs, and chalkboards. Clicking on these spots may yield either 500 EXP, 500 Mesos, ![]()
a letter, nothing, or a prompt to activate a switch, which will open a door allowing the party to proceed to the next stage.
To fight Angry Frankenroid, the first step is to find a ![]()
letter written by the opposite lover (i.e. if you are helping Romeo, you need a letter written by Juliet, and vice versa), and save it for later.
Stage 2
|
| Laboratory Tunnel |
For the second stage, eliminate all the Homuns and Saities to proceed to the next stage.
Stage 3
| Unpleasant Lab |
For the third stage, you will encounter Homunculi that drop
Suspicious Liquids, of which you can only carry one at a time. The objective is to fill up each of the 3 beakers in the map by clicking on them with a liquid in possession. The beakers are cracked and will leak until they are filled, at which point the crack disappears. Once all 3 beakers are filled, the party will be able to proceed to the next stage.
Stage 4
|
| Special Lab |
For the fourth stage, you will encounter Neo Huroids that drop
Card Keys, which will allow you to enter the doors located on both sides of the map. Only one player needs to enter each door at a time, and upon entering, they will have to destroy crates scattered throughout the map; the left door contains
Alcadno's Experiment Files and the right door contains
Zenumist's Experiment Files. Once each file is obtained, deliver both files to Romeo or Juliet to proceed to the next stage.
To fight Angry Frankenroid, the second step is to hand Romeo or Juliet the ![]()
letter you obtained in Stage 1.
Stage 5
| Yulete's Office |
For the fifth stage, Yulete will appear. When you move to the right, he will disappear and summon a swarm of Reinforced Iron Mutaes and Reinforced Mithril Mutaes. The Reinforced Iron Mutaes can cast Weapon Cancel and the Reinforced Mithril Mutaes can cast Magic Cancel, reducing the damage of those respective attacks to 1. After eliminating all the monsters, check the stacks of books, similar to the first stage, until you receive a prompt to activate a switch, which will open a door allowing the party to proceed to the next stage.
To fight Angry Frankenroid, the third step is to click on / talk to Yulete before he summons monsters.
Stage 6
|
| Lab Tunnel |
For the sixth stage, there will be four different doors to enter, one for each party member, with each door having 5 floors to reach the top of the map. Each floor has 4 platforms that you must press the Up arrow on, with one being the correct platform to the floor above and the other 3 sending you back to the bottom of the map. After successfully passing a floor, the correct platform of the previous floor will have a shimmering glow, making it easier to keep track of the correct platforms. Only one player needs to reach the top to reach the Entrance to Center Lab and have the party proceed to the next stage.
Stage 7
|
| Center Lab |
For the seventh and final stage, Yulete will appear again. Have the party leader talk to him to summon Frankenroid. There will be a ladder to a platform with Romeo or Juliet (the opposite person of who you're helping) collapsed in the middle, and a few Neo Huroids that spawn on the same platform to damage them. You will fail the Party Quest if their HP reaches 0, although it should be possible to defeat Frankenroid before this happens. Defeat Frankenroid to complete this stage, and then talk to the person you helped to proceed to the next stage. If you successfully protect Romeo or Juliet, both of them will appear alive and well, but if the person you're protecting dies, the person you're helping will despair over their death.
To fight Angry Frankenroid, the previous steps must all have been completed, and the party leader will receive two options when you talk to Yulete. Both of these options can summon Angry Frankenroid, but the party leader can select the 2nd option to convince Yulete that his work can be used for good instead of evil, which will result in the good ending.
Stage 8
|
| Traces of Yulete |
For the stage right before the reward stage, Yulete will appear once again, with a different outcome based on the ending. If you received the bad / default ending, he will be lying unconscious on the ground, lamenting his failures. If you received the good ending by summoning Angry Frankenroid and selecting the 2nd option in the previous stage (assuming Romeo both Juliet survived), he will appear cleaned up and choose to use his alchemy skills for good instead of evil.
Reward Stage
|
| Romeo and Juliet |
This stage serves to give you rewards. Talk to whomever you decided to help to receive a marble and to be sent to the exit; you will receive 1
Zenumist Marble if you helped Romeo, and you will receive 1
Alcadno Marble if you helped Juliet. If the person you were protecting in Stage 7 died, the person you helped will also be dead, having committed suicide after their lover's death, and you will not receive a marble.
Rewards

- Level-based EXP: , up to Level 99
Any equipment or Party Quest Set effects are calculated after the listed values. Players who are 20 levels or more below the average level of the party (regardless of the level of monsters in the Party Quest) will only receive 20% of the EXP upon completion.

Trivia
- Naturally, this quest is a reference to William Shakespeare's famous tragedy Romeo and Juliet, with a lot of serious license taken. The Montague and Capulet families are changed to the feuding Zenumist and Alcadno guilds, the antagonist is made far more evil, and the ending is much happier for the nominal couple, but the basic plot is the same. The boss is another obvious literary reference, this one to Frankenstein.
- However, if the person you are protecting in Stage 7 (the opposite of the NPC you choose to help) dies, the NPC you are helping will also commit suicide, as a reference to the original play.
- Prior to the You & I / Rising Heroes Update, receiving the good ending would unlock various questlines, such as Keeny asking you to receive the blueprint for Frankenroid from Yulete, assisting Yulete with his experiments, and helping Romeo and Juliet confess their love to each other.
- Despite the removal of these questlines in the You & I / Rising Heroes Update, players that satisfied these conditions beforehand can still access Yulete's Lab from one of the sewers in Magatia.
