The Demon is part of the Resistance, and is a Warrior-type class. It is divided into two different job branches: Demon Slayer and Demon Avenger (which he can choose between at the end of his tutorial).
Demon Slayer can choose to wield a One-handed Blunt Weapon or a One-handed Axe, and uses Demon Fury (DF) as a substitute for Mana Points (MP), continuously replenishing and consuming it while attacking. Demon Avenger wields a Desperado and relies heavily on Health Points (HP) for damage and skills. He uses Exceed-type attacks, which become stronger as he continuously uses them at the cost of additional HP consumption. Both Demon Slayer and Demon Avenger use a special shield named the Demon Aegis, which grows alongside the Demon.
Although the player can choose which path they take, the Demon is canonically a Demon Slayer within the story.
Centuries ago, the Demon became the right-hand Commander of the Black Mage in exchange for the safety of his family. When the Black Mage broke his promise, however, the Demon sought to take revenge on his master and contacted the Heroes, who sealed him away after the Demon fought and weakened the Black Mage. After barely surviving from his wounds in deep hibernation, the Demon's protective egg was found and drained by the Black Wings until he was rescued by the Resistance. Realizing that they have a common enemy in the Black Mage, the Demon agrees to join their ranks in order to get his revenge. On his journey to get stronger, however, the Demon hears rumors of a new demon Commander. His investigation to learn the identity of this Commander eventually leads him to a reunion with his long-lost brother, Damien.
Gameplay
Story

The Demon was a half-blood demon who lived in Tynerum with his human mother and half-blood brother, Damien. The Demon first awakened his powers after seeing Damien, who was sickly and blind in one eye, being bullied by the demons. Realizing that Tynerum was no longer safe, the Demon led his family to Maple World, where they eventually settled in Leafre with many other half-blood demons who sought to have a better, peaceful life. When the Black Mage first began his attack on Maple World, the Demon swore loyalty to him in exchange for his family's protection. The Demon quickly became the Black Mage's most loyal Commander, causing him to become rivals with Arkarium. In the final days of the war, the Demon and the other Commanders helped the Black Mage seal away the powers of Rhinne. After the battle, the Black Mage praised the Demon's contribution to the battle, causing Arkarium to seethe with jealousy. While the Demon rested after the battle, the Black Mage ordered the other Commanders to destroy the remainder of Ossyria. In revenge, Arkarium attacked the Demon's home in southern Leafre, where he killed the Demon's mother and recruited Damien, whose powers had awakened during Arkarium's attack, thereby gaining an insurance against the Demon.
Meanwhile, the Demon awoke and learned that the rest of Ossyria had been wiped out. Furious at the Black Mage breaking his promise to leave his family alone, the Demon had his servant, Mastema, deliver a letter to the Heroes outlining his betrayal, as well as key information about the defenses around the Temple of Time. The Demon then confronted the Black Mage and managed to destroy his protective shield, though he was ultimately defeated. However, the Demon's attack gave the Heroes the opening that they needed to seal the Black Mage away. In order to recover his strength, the Demon hibernated inside a protective egg. Centuries later, this egg was found by the Black Wings, who began draining it for energy. After the Demon hatched from the egg, he realized that he had lost all his powers because of the energy drainage. Severely weakened, he was rescued by J and brought to the Secret Plaza. After learning that they both had a common enemy in the Black Mage, the Demon and the Resistance agreed to work together.[8]
The Demon began to grow stronger by helping the Resistance and soon encountered Mastema, who was stuck in a cat form after she had been attacked by Arkarium centuries ago. The Demon then formed a contract with Mastema in order to grow even stronger. Soon after, he encountered a group of hooded demons who had been watching him. The youngest of the demons, who seemed to be their leader, appeared to recognize the Demon personally, causing him to grow interested in the leader's identity. Unbeknownst to the Demon, this demon leader was his long-lost brother, Damien.
While investigating the Black Mage, the Demon learned from Alcaster that only Von Leon knew the full details of what had happened during the battle at the Temple of Time centuries ago, and so the Demon resolved to grow strong enough to confront Von Leon and learn the truth. Soon after, the Demon met with Mercedes, who accepted a truce with him after learning that they were technically on the same side. Shortly after, Mercedes told the Demon that several demons had been sighted in Orbis. The Demon traveled there and found the demon leader and his officers placing a spell on the noble beast, Eliza. After the demons escaped, the Demon decided to investigate the return of the demons, who were meant to have disappeared from Maple World after the Black Mage's sealing. During his investigation, the Demon began looking into the Black Wings, knowing that they were seeking to resurrect the Black Mage. The Demon infiltrated the Verne Mine and found a photo of Orchid inside Francis' diary, which led him to conclude that Orchid was the founder of the Black Wings, though he noted that Lotus wasn't in the photo, despite the twins being inseparable.
Soon after, the Demon followed rumors of a secret book on Dark Alchemy in Magatia and learned that Arkarium's minions had stolen it. While chasing after them, he learned that Dark Alchemy involved the creation and destruction of magical substances, and that Arkarium planned to destroy the Seal Stones powering the Black Mage's seal with it. After defeating the minions and recovering the book, the Demon handed it over to the Zenumist and Alcadno presidents, who revealed that the book had been originally written by the Black Mage, whose research had been the foundation of Magatia. In order to prevent the book from falling into the wrong hands, the presidents agreed to destroy it.
Having grown strong enough to confront Von Leon, the Demon met him at his castle, where Von Leon told him to enter the Temple of Time to find his answers. The Demon began training to grow strong enough to return to the Temple of Time before following Von Leon's lead and traveling through the Gate of the Past, where he encountered a hooded Damien. Unable to see his face, the Demon only recognized Damien as the new Commander. Damien cryptically revealed that he knew the Demon and gave him back the locket containing his family picture, which he had lost in the battle against the Black Mage. When Damien began his attack on Maple World, the Demon found him at their family home in Leafre, where Damien finally revealed himself to his brother. Damien then attacked the Demon and warned him to stay out of his fight, vowing that he would fix everything that had gone wrong. Following this, the Demon loosely allied himself with the Heroes in order to defeat Damien, ultimately resulting in his brother's death. The Demon would then take Damien's body to bury at the ruins of their family home.

- In KMS, Won-hyeong Choi is in game Demon's voice actor.
- He voiced over Demian von Prios of The War of Genesis III Part.2.[9] Coincidentally, Demian von Prios and Damien's KMS name, Demian (데미안) have the same name. And his name comes from Max Damian of Hermann Hesse's novel Demian.
- He is the narrator for Surprise Mystery TV.[10] KMS makes parody videos of that TV program. He becomes the narrator for the first and third video there.
