World Archive

A shopping center located on the outskirts of Kerning City. The Kerning Square used to be here as well, but after a renovation, it was replaced with a skyscraper. Kerning Tower is where trends are born, and superstars get their start.

Kerning Tower is a theme dungeon in Victoria Island near Kerning City. Blake, the former superstar from Kerning Square, has recruited you as the casting manager for his newly-established record label Jackpot Entertainment. He asks for your help in finding new talent for a music competition and assisting the new members.

This region can be accessed by clicking on The Ticket Gate at Kerning City's Subway Ticketing Booth for Level 145+ players, or World Map UI at any level. It is a massive shopping mall with multiple floors, as well as an Office TV that allows you to access a few maps of the original Kerning Square. Each floor has 3 maps with normal monsters, and the 2nd to 6th floors each have 2 additional Star Force maps which require 80 Star Force or higher. The final boss for this area is the Spirit of Rock, a devilish spirit that resides in a guitar and causes trouble for aspiring musicians.

Completing the questline will reward the  Jackpot Entertainment Co-CEO medal. The boss Spirit of Rock can be fought again by clicking on the Suspicious Guitar in the Penthouse, where it can drop  Spirit of Rock's Soul Shards.

Trivia

• This area's previous incarnation, Kerning Square, reused a lot of assets (maps, monsters, and NPCs) from Taipei 101, with a few additional monsters from Night Market, areas in the TaiwanMS-exclusive Taiwan / Formosa region.
  • With the Big Bang Update, Taipei 101 was removed in TaiwanMS and replaced with Kerning Square.
• Kerning Square came in several variations. The first and original variation, released in 2009, was a Level 35+ theme dungeon had players help Blake the Subway Worker achieve his dream of becoming a musician. The second variation, released in 2013 and replacing the first, was also a Level 35+ theme dungeon had players save the now-famous Blake's personality and passion for music from being corrupted by the Spirit of Rock's influence.
  • ChinaMS and TaiwanMS kept both variations instead of replacing the first, with the second variation existing as a separate Level 130+ theme dungeon with reskinned versions of Kerning Square mobs.
  • JapanMS had a different variation without Blake that was also a Level 35+ theme dungeon. In this variation, rumors circulate that after a man in black traveled to Kerning Square, monsters in the area suddenly became hostile towards couples; as a result, Jake would ask you to rescue any couples still trapped at Kerning Square. There, you aided a couple, Fiancée and Darling, whose wedding was in jeopardy after visiting Kerning Square. The story would culminate in defeating the ジェラシーロッカー (Jealousy Rocker, the JapanMS name of the Spirit of Rock), a spirit formed by the condensed jealousy of soloists.
  • All variations of Kerning Square were removed in the You & I / Rising Heroes Update.
• Several of the human NPCs from Star Planet were reused in Kerning Tower as Spectators and Fan Club Members, with of the characters from the Busy Couple NPC reused as a Groupie.
