Advance of the Union (KR:연합의 진격 romaja: Yeonhabui jingyeok hanja:聯合의 進擊) (or Alliance in GMS, Return Of The Forces in MSEA) is a two-part update in MapleStory. This update features a major complete class reorganization, although Explorer Thieves and Explorer Pirates remain unaffected.

With evidence of the Black Mage's return, the Explorers, Cygnus Knights, Heroes and the Resistance have decided to perform a mass alliance in order to defeat the oncoming threat.

Part 1 : Resistance • Aran • Evan

• Resistance, Aran, and Evan were revamped.
• New Skill: Will of the Alliance.

Part 2 : Warrior • Magician • Bowman • Cygnus Knights

• Explorer Warrior, Explorer Magician, Explorer Bowman, and Cygnus Knights were revamped.
• Nett's Pyramid was revamped.
• Lion King's Castle was changed into a Theme Dungeon.

Part 1 : Alliance Rising

• New Major Boss: Arkarium.
• Silent Crusade's storyline was modified.
• Aran and Evan were revamped.
• New Skill: Will of the Alliance.
• Crimsonwood Keep Party Quest returns.

Part 2 : Alliance Unbound

• Resistance, Aran, and Evan were revamped.
• Ellin Forest was revamped.
• New Leaf City is overhauled and given a new theme where the city is under invasion by Aliens.

Part 3 : Alliance Eternal

• Explorer Warrior, Explorer Magician, Explorer Bowman, and Cygnus Knights were revamped.
• Nett's Pyramid was revamped.
• Lion King's Castle was changed into a Theme Dungeon.
