Previous23rd Anniversary / Post-Crown / Post-Ride The Lightning

Overdrive is an update following Crown. The update includes a new Demon Magician job, Lethe, a new HEXA Skill Node, as well as new Level 280+ Boss Bellona. The update also includes many user experience and quality of life improvements, including boss system changes, Auction House revamp, Legion System changes, as well as various daily and weekly content changes.

1st: Ruler of Covenants, Lethe and QoL Improvements

  • New Job: Lethe, the Ruler of Covenants, a Demon Magician
    • Separate from the existing Demon Slayer and Demon Avenger classes, who remain as part of the Resistance, hence different common skill
    • Pure summoning class, no self single attacking skill
  • Boss system changes
    • Time limit for weekly and monthly bosses changed to 20 minutes, with HP reduced by about one-third for each boss to reflect the lower time limit
    • Removal of Easy Cygnus mode, while Hard Hilla, Chaos Pink Bean, and Normal Cygnus changed to daily bosses
    • New Boss Practice Mode per phase, available for Normal Lotus to Hard Kaling
      • Limited to phases where the player has previously entered in real or full-phased Practice Mode
      • Supports Genesis Liberation and Destiny 1st Transcendence missions, though this will not be recognized for completion
      • Does not support Champion Mode and Destiny 2nd Transcendence missions
    • Adjustments to Intense Power Crystal values
    • Boss pattern and message adjustments for Will, Verus Hilla, and Kaling
    • Boss difficulty displayed in boss map name
  • Enhancement changes
    • New automatic ability reset system, available in the Reset Ability UI
    • When resetting abilities using points, the same options as before the reset will no longer appear
    • Removal of Special Skill Ring Polishing Level Exchange function
  • Epic Dungeon revamp
    • Number of stages reduced to 5
    • Removal of time limit for defeating certain monsters, as well as HP adjustments for various monsters
    • Increase in damage dealt towards certain monsters
    • Selazar Coin rewards replaced by 15 Sol Erda Fragments
    • Express Pass price reduced to 5,000 Maple Points
    • Story Mode can now be skipped regardless if the account has cleared for the first time
  • Monster Park revamp
    • New Sweep Mode feature, where players can clear multiple times after entering only once
      • Corresponding EXP and rewards provided based on the number of sweeps
      • Available entry tickets and Express Passes will be used first before Maple Points
    • Removal of Monster Park Extreme, while related monster collection can be registered via purchasing the Monsterblooms via the Monster Park shop, costing 150 coins each up to 5 per week per world
    • New weekly quest offering similar Monster Park Extreme EXP after clearing an Advanced Dungeon 5 times in a week, up to 2 characters per world
  • Arcane River and Grandis content changes
    • Field improvements for Cernium, Burning Cernium, Hotel Arcus, Odium, Shangri-La, Arteria, and Carcion
    • Number of monsters required to complete daily symbol quests in Arcane River and Grandis regions reduced to 100 per area
    • Clear limit of Arcane River Special Content reduced to once per week, while number of Arcane Symbols obtained upon completion is increased to 240 per area
    • Express Pass adjustments
      • Daily Quest Express Pass for Arcane River and Grandis regions fixed at 200 Maple Points regardless of progression
      • Arcane River Special Content Express Pass fixed at 2,000 Maple Points regardless of progression
  • Legion revamp and Legion Champion expansion
    • Removal of Legion Raid battle map, while Legion Raid Job effect changed to Legion Stat effect
    • Legion Board changed to Legion Points, where players can distribute various Legion Stat effects based on the Character Rank
    • Raid member effects now apply to any character with Character Rank B or higher
    • Legion Raid composition method simplifcation, where Raid Combat Power automatically calculated based on highest Combat Power
    • Legion Champion 5th slot now available, requiring all Legion Champions to be at Rank S or higher
  • Guild changes
    • New Account Group feature, allowing multiple characters within the same world to be grouped as one guild member for activities
      • Up to 6 characters can be selected to join a guild as one guild member, while existing guild members can add characters using the Add Account Group feature
      • Characters within the Account Group function as one guild member, and can utilize Guild Skills if allowed
      • Attendance, contribution, and guild content recorded once per Account Group
      • Sharenian Culvert records the highest score within the Account Group
      • All characters included in the Account Group expelled when one guild member is expelled
    • Recruitment improvements, including minimum character level to join guild, automatic joining option, as well as improvements to search and filter functions
    • Management improvements, including simultaneous guild membership application acceptance, as well as improvements to Alliance creations
  • Skill UI revamp and skill changes
    • Ascent Skill damage nerfs for all classes, with HEXA Matrix Reset Scroll provided
    • New automatic SP and Hyper SP distribution feature, where players can automatically distribute skill points from 1st Job skills to Hyper Skills
    • Skill description improvements, as well as new notifications for newly acquired skills
    • Removal of Hyper Skill reset cost
    • Mount UI improvements, including highlighting newly acquired Mounts and Mount search function
    • Link Skill button added to the bottom of the UI
    • Improvements to Phantom's Skill Management UI, Target Skill UI, and Steal Skill success notification window
  • Luna Petite Pet system revamp
    • New world shared pet slots, allowing players to share and use Luna Petite Pets and equipment for all characters within the same world
    • New Luna Petite Skills, requiring players to at least obtain 3 Luna Petite Pets of the same set, and any additional Luna Petite Pets of any sets
      • Luna Gathering, requiring 1 additional pet, looting all items in the map when using the skill, limited to 230 times daily per world, offering passive +15 ATT / MATT
      • Luna Extension, requiring 2 additional pets, extends Sol Janus duration up to 300 seconds, offering passive +15 ATT / MATT
      • Luna Power Up, requiring 3 additional pets, offering passive +30 ATT / MATT
  • EXP improvements
    • EXP reward increase in Mechaberry Farm, Luxe Sauna, and MVP Resort for Level 295 to 299 characters
    • Mechaberry Farm and Golden Strawberry Farm improvements, where monsters will now chase the character
      • Removal of 400% flat EXP increase effect Golden Strawberry Farm, allowing buffs and consumable items to be used to increase EXP
    • New Blueberry Farm available for Level 260 characters and above, providing the same EXP for characters at Level 279 or higher
    • Removal of daily usage limit of VIP Boosters
  • Auction House revamp
    • Now accessible via the in-game UI, using the Full Menu, Quick Navigation Menu, or keybinds
    • Access also available via web browsers, with certain restrictions
    • Search function improvements, including Search Preset feature, Sum option, Scroll Enhancement filters, as well as change in Combat Power
    • Trading function improvements, including Price Modification feature, as well as Exclude Untradable Items option
  • MVP System improvements
    • New tooltip to check estimated rank for the 12 weeks, and amount required to maintain current rank
    • Kinship Ring, EXP Boost Ring (15%), and Pendant of the Spirit now retained if meeting MVP rank conditions, claimable once a week with another character
    • New MVP Resort UI, offering similar view as the Luxe Sauna UI
    • MVP Express Passes can now be used at MVP Resorts and Luxe Sauna
  • UI and item improvements
    • HEXA Matrix material improvements
      • Maximum Sol Erda limit increase based on the character's level, where Level 275 and 290 increases limit to 25 and 30 respectively
      • Sol Erda/Sol Erda Fragment Selection Coupon can now be used up to a maximum of 300 times at once
    • Medal UI and medal changes
      • Removal of cost of reissuing medals, with new message indicating reissuance is not possible for temporary medals
      • New sorting function added to Medal UI
      • New Medal UI button in Inventory UI
    • New Android and Medal bags
    • Growth Potion name simplification
    • Astra Secondary Weapon traces can now be discarded
    • New button in Champion's Blessing UI to reset selected stat levels
    • UI expansion when number of Quests in Quest mailbox exceeds 10
  • Character Preset revamp
    • New effect transparency preset
    • Titles now included in equipment presets
    • New feature to allow changing Special Nodes, damage skills, outfit presets, and effect transparency presets
  • Custom Portrait improvements, including re-request feature
  • Challenger World Season 4, with Arcane Seal and Challenger Pass
    • Challenger Pass split into separate EXP and Premium Passes, with increased duration to 13 weeks
    • Cross World Auction House and Meso Market for nearly all Challenger Worlds and all regular worlds, except Challenger 4 which shares with Eos and Helios worlds
    • Hunting Missions changed to Weekly Growth Missions, which can be completed once weekly
      • 1,500 Challengers Coin can be obtained by defeating 5,000 monsters, completing Monster Park 6 times, or completing Symbol Daily Quests 12 times
      • Weekly Growth Pass can be used to complete previously incomplete missions, costing 10,000 Maple Points
    • New Season Missions, providing various Challenger Coins based on various missions related to Ability, Arcane Force, Sacred Force, Equipment, V Matrix, HEXA Matrix, and Combat Power
    • New feature allowing a character to temporarily obtain Level 30 Sol Janus, which will be removed after world leaping
    • Various reward changes, including 3 Memento Armor 18 Star Force Enhancement Scrolls (Level 200), a Level 250 Leap Potion, as well as an instant Level 20 Sol Janus Enhancement Voucher
    • New ranks, including Super Challenger rank for the Top 999 players, granting special title and medal
    • New Season Boss: Meilin (Normal and Hard), providing similar rewards and Clear Event to Kai in Season 3
    • Normal Kai remains available, though only for Challenger World and Item Burning Plus missions, with decrease in HP, and increased Death Count to 10
  • Hyper Burning MAX, Beyond Burning, Hyper Blink, Character Creation Guide, and Item Burning Plus events
    • Hyper Blink functions similar to the previous Tera Blink, with 5,000% additional EXP buff from Levels 200 to 260
    • Beyond Burning extended to Level 280 with corresponding rewards
    • Item Burning Plus changes
      • Missions now require Chaos Gloom and Normal Meilin clears to obtain the maximum rewards
      • Crests of Challenge now obtained from weekly monster hunting, as well as first clear of specific bosses
      • Challenger Hat can be swapped to a cooldown hat, and can be reversed
  • Genesis Pass and Genesis Pass Plus
    • Arcane Force buff no longer provided, and buff removed after liberation
    • Genesis Pass Plus requires clearing various Grandis bosses, and provides Adversary Cubes and Rebirth Flames, previously provided in the Change Burning event
  • New Recruit Mercenary Support event, providing additional rewards for Lethe characters
  • Mission Ultima event
    • Attendance now done automatically upon login
    • Additional and specific event buffs can be upgraded based on event materials obtained via bosses and hunting monsters
  • Luxe Sauna event
  • New Name Auction event

2nd: HEXA 3rd Skill Node

  • HEXA 3rd Skill Node
    • Unlike Origin and Ascent skills, this skill node is designed to address weak points of each class's combat
  • Damage cap increased to 10 trillion
  • Coloring Prism Pro and Weapon Effect Prism improvements
    • Unlimited number of times for color changes of an item once Prisms are used
    • Applied retroactively to items that had Prisms used
    • Prisms sold at all times

3rd: New Boss Bellona

  • New Boss: Bellona (Easy to Hard)
    • Level 280+ Boss for up to 3 party members
  • New Equipment: Starving Blood-Red Vengeful Spirit (6th piece of the Brilliant Boss Set), a Level 250 eye accessory

  • Monster Park Extreme is removed once again after being reintroduced in the Ignition Update.
  • Some features introduced in this update are similar to existing features in other MapleStory IPs, including MapleStory M and MapleStory: Idle RPG:
    • Monster Park Sweep Mode, where players can play once and receive the effects of multiple clears
    • Monster Park Hands, where automatic hunting is enabled, providing EXP, Meso, Sol Erda, and Sol Erda Fragments
