22nd Anniversary: Maple University (KoreaMS)

The NEXT Update concluded with the releases of Destiny Weapon and Star Force Reorganization. The contents after the NEXT Update and before the Assemble Update are included in Non-KoreaMS servers as part of the NEXT / Post-NEXT / Post-Stargazer Update.

1st: Skill Balancing and UI Revamps

  • Major UI revamps including Login, Main Menu, Equipment, Inventory, and Alerts
    • Quick Move reorganized into Town Menu
  • Tooltip reorganization for Equipment and Pet
  • Enhancement system reorganization, including a unified Enhancement UI
    • Name changes for certain systems, including Upgrades to Scrolls and Equipment Transfer to Trace Transfer
    • Star Force Enhancement changes
      • Star Catcher minigame difficulty no longer changes based on number of attempts, though base movement speed increased by 25%
      • Equipment can use Star Force Enhancement even if Scroll Enhancements not fully completed
    • Removal of Golden Hammer system, with all available Scroll usages increased by 1
    • Removal of Level 100-150 Rebirth Flames from all sources, replacing them with Rebirth Fragments
    • New Special Skill Rings Polishing Level Exchange feature, allowing exchanges of Polishing Level of 2 different Special Skill Rings at Level 4 and higher
  • Skill balancing for all jobs, changing 3-minute skill cycles to 2-minute skill cycles
  • Maple Home system with different implementation and UI compared to Non-KoreaMS servers
  • MVP System reorganization
    • New Black rank, with unification of all previous Bronze ranks to a single Bronze rank
    • Weekly and monthly benefit changes, including new MVP Resort map access
    • Quick Pass benefits for MVP Red and higher, including Monster Park, Monster Park Extreme, Arcane and Sacred Symbol Dailies, as well as Epic Dungeon
  • Azmoth Chasm final damage reduction increased to 95%
  • Intense Power Crystal price adjustments
  • Removal of lower resolutions
  • MapleStory 22nd Anniversary: Maple University event
  • Hasty Hunting MAX event

2nd: Additional UI Changes and Cash Shop Revamp

  • Cash Shop UI revamp
  • Grand Athenaeum changes, including addition of Tallahart story, alongside Identisk, Strange Tides, and Interdimensional Visitors event stories
  • Additional UI improvements including Login, Enhancement, and equipment tooltip UIs
  • Additional MVP benefits
  • Dimensional Tower Season 2 event
  • World's Best Punch King Season 3 event
  • [Summer Pre-Registration] Summer Countdown event

Carcion Octo Festa (MapleSEA)

Note: This section uses mostly MapleSEA translations as the other Non-KoreaMS servers, except GlobalMS, use similar translated names in their respective languages. Unless otherwise stated, the release order in this section is also mainly based on MapleSEA timeline.

The NEXT Update concluded with the releases of Baldrix and Destiny Weapon. The contents after the NEXT Update and before the Assemble Update are listed below.

  • Number display format changed to be using commas every 3 digits in Inventory (Mesos and Maple Points amount) and Auction House
  • Archenemy renamed to Adversary
  • Unfamiliar Tides event
  • Sailor's Festival event, an overseas exclusive event themed to Unfamiliar Tides
    • Missions include level range mobs, weekly boss defeats, and Cash Shop spending
    • Rewards include Advanced EXP Coupons and Sol Erda Fragments, as well as a Mithra's Rage emblem with up to Legendary Potential and Unique Additional Potential
  • Dimensional Haunted Mansion event
  • [My Home] Halloween event
  • VIP Sauna event, including a Premium Pass offering additional rewards based on time spent in the sauna
  • Assemble Countdown event, similar to Summer Countdown event introduced in KoreaMS with changes to account for server differences

MapleStory x Frieren (JapanMS)

Note: This section uses mostly MapleSEA translations as the other Non-KoreaMS servers, except GlobalMS, use similar translated names in their respective languages.

The NEXT Update concluded with the releases of Baldrix and Destiny Weapon. The contents after the NEXT Update and before the Assemble Update are listed below.

Post-NEXT (ChinaMS and TaiwanMS)

The NEXT Update concluded with the release of Union Champion. The contents after the NEXT Update and before the Assemble Update are listed below.

1st: MapleStory x Dave the Diver

Various quality of life improvements introduced in the 4th part of the KoreaMS NEXT and all of 22nd Anniversary Updates are rolled out in this part of the update. In addition, the update also includes:

  • Major UI revamps including Login, Main Menu, Equipment, Inventory, Alerts, and Cash Shop
    • Hammer System remains available and renamed to Enhancement Count Increase, though Golden Hammers removed with all available Scroll usages increased by 1
  • Skill balancing for all jobs including Kanna, Hayato, Mo Xuan, and Lynn, changing 3-minute skill cycles to 2-minute skill cycles
  • 3rd HEXA Stat Core available for Level 270+ characters, requiring 2nd Hexa Stat Core to be Level 20
  • New Boss: Baldrix (Normal and Hard)
  • New Equipment: Oath of Death (second piece of the Boss of Brilliant Set)
  • New Weapon: Destiny Weapon (Level 250+)
  • New boss rewards
    • Boss of Life Ring Box from Kalos (Chaos and Extreme), Carling (Hard and Extreme), Limbo (Normal and Hard), Baldrix (Normal and Hard), and Extreme Malitia
    • Refined Ore of Faith from Limbo (Normal and Hard), Baldrix (Normal and Hard), and Extreme Malitia
    • Baldrixroid, Trace of Eternal Fealty and Baldrix's Soul Shard from Baldrix (Normal and Hard)
    • Eternal Oath Armor Box (Eternal Shoes, Gloves, or Cape) and Oath of Death from Baldrix (Hard)
  • Malitia made available to be battled via Dimensional Battlefield / Cross World Boss Content
  • Dave the Diver collaboration event[1]
  • Dimensional Madness event[2]
  • Clash of Apostle Battlefield event
  • Champion Challenge event

In TaiwanMS, the update also includes:

  • Additional VIP benefits, including additional quality of life perks and Quick Passes introduced in the MVP System reorganization in KoreaMS

2nd: Night Troupe in Omega Sector

  • Princess Nou boss revamp
    • Prequest completion no longer required
    • Removal of all previous stages, with minibosses changed to be summoned by Princess Nou for a set duration
    • Increase in difficulty with higher HP, with corresponding increase in Glowing Soul Crystal value
  • Mushroom Shrine map revamp
  • Extension of the Dave the Diver collaboration event with event achievements
  • Night Troupe in Omega Sector event
  • Dimensional Haunted Mansion event
  • [My Home] Halloween event

In TaiwanMS, the update also includes:

  • MapleStory OpenAPI support

3rd: Carcion Octo Festa (ChinaMS only)

In TaiwanMS, the Post-NEXT Update concluded with the release of Night Troupe in Omega Sector event. The following update is only applicable to ChinaMS:

  • Unfamiliar Tides event
  • Sailor's Festival event, an overseas exclusive event themed to Unfamiliar Tides
    • Main reward changed to a Star Force Enhancement Scroll, up to 2 20★ scrolls
  • Christmas Snowman event[3]
  • [My Home] Christmas event[3]
  • New Year's Fortune event[3]
  • Assemble Countdown event, similar to Summer Countdown event introduced in KoreaMS with changes to account for server differences

Post-Stargazer (GlobalMS)

The Stargazer Update concluded with MapleStory x Dave the Diver. The contents after the Stargazer Update and before the Assemble Update are listed below.

1st: Midnight Carnival: Mu Lung

  • New Legion Champion system, requiring a Level 260+ character and 8,000+ total Legion Level to unlock
  • Champion Raid: Draco Isle
  • Removal of Cross World Auction House Maple Point fee requirement
  • NA Interactive World Merge, consolidating Elysium and Aurora worlds into Scania
    • Additional event offering additional perks as well as hunting missions, rewarding various growth items such as EXP Vouchers and VIP Boosters
  • Steam Community Market (Beta) official closure, though most functionalities were disabled upon announcement in the Victoria Cup: 20th Anniversary Update
  • Extension of the Dave the Diver collaboration event with event achievements
  • Midnight Carnival: Mu Lung event
  • Champion Burning Double Up event
  • Hyperion World Leap Perks event, offering perks equivalent to Sunny Sunday benefits in Hyperion only

2nd: Carcion Octo Fest

Various quality of life improvements introduced in the 4th part of the KoreaMS NEXT and all of KoreaMS 22nd Anniversary Updates are rolled out in this part of the update. In addition, the update also includes:

Trivia

  • A number of regional differences came across with this update:
    • Midnight Carnival: Mu Lung event, which was only available in Non-KoreaMS servers, was handled differently depending on the servers:
      • In ChinaMS and TaiwanMS, as this event was already released in the prior year, the new Omega Sector version was released instead.
      • In MapleSEA, this event was instead released in the NEXT Update, and was available in Challenger World, allowing players to participate in more than one world.
      • In GlobalMS, this event was disabled in Challenger Worlds.
      • In JapanMS, this event was released after Challenger World has ended.
    • In TaiwanMS, the following differences apply:
      • The Unfamiliar Tides and Sailor's Festival events were delayed to the Post-Assemble Update.
      • The Assemble Countdown event was not available as the Assemble Update was directly after the Night Troupe in Omega Sector Update.
