A floating island at the heart of Zipangu, and the first piece of this otherworld to appear in Maple World. Surrounded by beautiful cherry blossom forests, Mushroom Shrine venerates Zipangu's guardian, Daidarabotchi.
Every corner of this land carries its own story, from the mysterious great tree Kamuna, rooted at the island's center, to Mushroom Shrine itself and the nearby Cave of the Deceased and haunted houses hidden deep within the dark forest. If you ever visit, it may be worth listening to the tales of humans, yokai, and those who are both.

Mushroom Shrine is an area in Zipangu based on the various real-life Shinto shrines in Japan. It is filled with cherry blossom trees, and has a view of Mount Fuji in the background. The town has a shop selling a variety of delicacies from Japan.

This region can be accessed on foot via Momijigahara 2 near Momijigaoka and via Showa Street 3 near Showa Town, as well as via Perry at Victoria Tree Platform and various Zipangu towns. It is divided into four sections: Mushroom Forest and Graveyard to the west, and Cherry Blossom Forest and Vanished Village to the east. Kamuna is also accessible through the Forest of Oblivion, which serves as an important location for Mushroom Shrine Tales, Sengoku: Asura War, and Neo Tokyo. Mushroom Shrine is the focus of the Level 100+ Mushroom Shrine Tales questline, allowing players to unlock and expand their Threads of Fate as they progress through the questline. The final boss for Mushroom Shrine Tales is Tengu, a crow yokai who tests the player's worthiness.

Completing the Mushroom Shrine Tales questline will reward the Cape  Wings of Fate, the Medal  Guardian of the Five Elements, and the  Crow Damage Skin. Defeating the boss Tengu can allow players to increase their Threads of Fate closeness with an NPC of their choice. Fort Asura will also be made available as a sub-area of Mushroom Shrine following the end of the Sengoku: Asura War questline.
