Gate to the Future is an area in Ossyria's Temple of Time region, accessible via the left door in Three Doors. Normally this gate is not open to outsiders due to the dangers and uncertainty of viewing the future. However, the Black Mage's minions have succeeded in opening the Gate to the Future, leading to rumors about a dystopian future where the Black Mage has succeeded in conquering Maple World and the Alliance has betrayed its people to join the Black Mage. As you help out the residents of this strange future, you eventually learn that it is a false future conjured up by Lucid, a new commander of the Black Mage. This region can be accessed on foot via the left door in the Temple of Time's Three Doors.

Twilight Perion contains a field boss: Ghostwood Stumpy, a twisted version of Stumpy that has been corrupted by the Black Mage's power. The Major Boss Cygnus can be fought in Henesys Ruins, deep in the Knight Stronghold.

Henesys Ruins

In the false future of Henesys Ruins, it is learned that Empress Cygnus had been searching for the World Tree to gain the power to fight the Black Mage. However, Cygnus had instead been led into a trap, causing her soul to be taken by the Black Mage. With Cygnus - and by proxy Shinsoo - both corrupted, Ereve had lost its divine power, causing it to crash onto Victoria Island. Henesys Ruins is surrounded by giant, monstrous versions of various Victoria Island monsters, with a few monstrous Ereve monsters found near Dark Ereve, accessible via the Singing Mushroom Forest Ruins.

Knight Stronghold

The Knight Stronghold is located within Dark Ereve to the southeast of Henesys Ruins. It is the base of the corrupted Cygnus Knights, with all the monsters here being knights or corrupted elemental spirits. Players can fight the Major Boss Cygnus here.

Twilight Perion

Main article: Twilight Perion

In the false future of Twilight Perion, the player finds the citizens enslaved by the Resistance, who have now joined the Black Mage. Twilight Perion is surrounded by giant, monstrous versions of various Perion monsters, as well as Ancient Golems, which are giant Stone Golems formed by the spirits of deceased Perion warriors.
