Henesys Ruins is an area in Ossyria's Temple of Time region, and is the first false future within the Gate to the Future. The Alliance has begun investigating rumors about the Black Mage's minions opening the Gate to the Future. After getting pulled through the gate when attempting to close it, encounter a dystopian future where Henesys is destroyed and the Cygnus Knights have joined the Black Mage. Help out the residents of the town, defeat the corrupted Cygnus, and learn the truth about this strange future.
This region can be accessed on foot via the left door in Temple of Time's Three Doors. It is divided into five sections: Henesys Ruins, Ravaged Forest, Singing Mushroom Forest Ruins, Dark Ereve, and the Knight Stronghold, the latter of which serves as its own area. There are also four Star Force maps which require 120 Star Force or higher. The Major Boss Cygnus can be fought here.
Completing the main Knight Stronghold questline will reward the Medal

Story
Henesys Ruins
For information on the full story, visit this page.
With the formation of the Alliance, Neinheart began utilizing their new resources in order to investigate the rumors behind the Gate to the Future. Neinheart recruited the help of an Alliance member to visit the Temple of Time, where they learned that the Black Mage's minions had been able to open the Gate to the Future before being repelled by the Temple Keepers. While attempting to close the door, the Alliance member was pulled inside, where they heard an indistinct voice speaking to them, as well as a mysterious light leading them deeper inside. They arrived in the Henesys Ruins, where they learned from the townspeople that the Cygnus Knights had sided with the Black Mage and invaded Maple World.
The Alliance member began investigating the story behind the Cygnus Knights' fall and learned that Empress Cygnus had been searching for the World Tree in order to gain the power to fight the Black Mage. However, Cygnus had instead been led into a trap, causing her soul to be taken by the Black Mage. With Cygnus - and Shinsoo, through their bond - both corrupted, Ereve had lost its divine power, causing it to crash onto Victoria Island. Now a puppet of the Black Mage, Cygnus had ordered her Knights to attack the people of Maple World. While helping the people of Future Henesys, the Alliance member discovered a mysterious Dream Fragment, which they brought back to Neinheart in the real world. Neinheart thanked the Alliance member for their help and resolved to investigate the Dream Fragment, believing that it held some clue about the truth behind the ruined future beyond the door.
Knight Stronghold

The Alliance member continued investigating the Gate to the Future and began working with Chief Alex, the son of the late Chief Stan, to infiltrate the Knight Stronghold of Ereve. Inside the stronghold, they encountered an imprisoned Neinheart, who revealed that he had been held prisoner after refusing to follow Cygnus and the Black Mage. Neinheart explained that the Cygnus Knights - who drew their power from Shinsoo - had been turned into mindless puppets after Shinsoo's corruption, leading them to blindly obey Cygnus' orders. He then asked the Alliance member to kill Cygnus, believing that it was the only way to restore peace to Maple World. With the help of an adult Jay and Anne, the Alliance member infiltrated the Cygnus Garden with a Dream Key, where they fought and defeated the corrupted Cygnus, Shinsoo, and the Chief Knights.
While lamenting the future that awaited Maple World, the Alliance member heard the voice of the real Shinsoo, who explained that she had been trying to reach them ever since they had first entered the Gate to the Future. Shinsoo revealed that the ruined future was nothing more than an illusion created by the Black Mage's Dream Master in order to demoralize the Alliance. Back in Ereve, Neinheart told the Alliance member that all across Maple World, people were suffering from nightmares of the illusion within the Gate to the Future. Though the crisis they now faced was immense, Neinheart thanked the Alliance member for proving that the ruined future wasn't real, as it would give them the strength to overcome their new adversities.
Trivia
- When Henesys Ruins and Knight Stronghold were first released in the Chaos Update, the Knight Stronghold was a Party Play Zone where players received 50% additional experience per party member in all maps except for the Hallowed Ground maps with the 5 elemental sprites. The monsters were Level 168 - 184 at the time (unchanged to this day). The Official Knights had HP ranging from 20,500,000 (20.5 million) to 24,500,000 (24.5 million), and base EXP ranging from 88,243 to 102,757. The Advanced Knights had HP ranging from 25,000,000 (25 million) to 30,500,000 (30.5 million), and base EXP ranging from 104,529 to 124,671. This area became one of the most popular hunting grounds as a result.
- In most servers, the Advanced Knights' monster stats were nerfed to have regular HP and EXP as of the Jump! / Ascension Update due to the release of Monster Park which served as a new Party Play Zone.
- GMS retained the high HP and EXP until the Unleashed Update.
- Despite the Advanced Knights being nerfed, the Official Knights stayed as a Party Play Zone, though the EXP of Official Knight A and B was halved in the Unlimited / Unleashed Update in some servers.
- With the Reboot Update, the Official Knights' monsters stats were nerfed to have regular HP and EXP, and the most popular maps in the Knight Stronghold were turned into Star Force variants, with higher HP and EXP variants of the same mobs.
- In most servers, the Advanced Knights' monster stats were nerfed to have regular HP and EXP as of the Jump! / Ascension Update due to the release of Monster Park which served as a new Party Play Zone.
