Boss Arena
| This article contains information no longer in-game, and are thus historical records of MapleStory. |
Boss Arena was a 1v1 match between players released in the RED Update, allowing players to play as various bosses from in-game: Magnus, Prison Guard Ani, Arkarium, Dragonoir, Cygnus, and Von Leon. The player needed to choose between 2 of 4 common skills and a handicap level (between high attack or high defense). Each boss had 3 attacking skills, 3 regular skills, and the 2 common skills picked before the game. They would be placed on the keys ASD, QWE and RT respectively, and have varying cooldown times. As a player, Double Jump-type skills were limited to 10 uses per game, with a few exceptions.
To win the game as a boss, the Death Count needed to be reduced from 15 to 0. To win the game as a player, the boss needed to be killed. If the boss is not killed or all death counts are not cancelled, victory is decided by the number of Death Points, the remaining health of the boss, and the level. Players could receive Boss Arena Emblems after completing a certain number of matches, which could be upgraded as the player's rank increased.
It was available in all servers, but it has been removed from the game shortly before the V Update as a result of all classes receiving their own dedicated Emblems.
