Ultimate Explorers (also known as Ultimate Adventurers, UE, or UA) were a special category of Explorers that were tied to the Cygnus Knights. Prior to the Cygnus Returns Update when Cygnus Knights were capped at Level 120, you would have to a series of quests on your Cygnus Knight character; the final quest was Empress's Grace (now known as The Gift for the Empress and only available to Mihile characters), which would require you to hunt Peridots that dropped from Harps at a very low rate. Upon completing this quest, your Cygnus Knight character would receive Empress's Shout and Empress's Prayer. You could then talk to Empress Cygnus again to create an Ultimate Explorer, which would start at Level 50 with 2nd Job Advancement completed upon creation. Ultimate Explorers would receive the Empress's Fine Set along with the respective Weapon for their class, and the Medal 
Cygnus's Successor (which would be named after your Cygnus Knight character) upon creation, with the Empress's Brilliant Set also rewarded upon reaching Level 70.
The Ultimate Explorer would have the same abilities as a regular Explorer as well as a few new abilities based on their class type. All classes would receive 
Empress's Might, allowing them to wear Equipment up to 10 levels higher. Warriors would receive 
Mihile's Soul Driver and 
Mihile's Soul; Magicians would receive 
Oz's Flame Gear and 
Oz's Flame; Bowmen would receive 
Irena's Wind Piercing and 
Irena's Wind; Thieves would receive 
Eckhart's Vampire and 
Eckhart's Darkness; and Pirates would receive 
Hawkeye's Shark Wave and 
Hawkeye's Lightning. These skills would start at Level 1 and would increase by 1 for every 10 levels the character gained (up to Level 5 and Level 10 respectively for each skill).
Ultimate Explorers were available in all servers, but were discontinued as of the Cygnus Returns Update which revamped each Cygnus Knight character to have the same maximum level as every other character. However, characters that were created as Ultimate Explorers still possess their special skills. In addition, the regular attacking skills can still be obtained by completing the respective Empress's Might and Power of the Spirit quests from Mihile, Oz, Irena, Eckhart, and Hawkeye.
