Not to be confused with 2022 NLC, the alternate version of the Alien Invasion that was only present in ChinaMS.

The Alien Base was an expansion of New Leaf City, where players would have to rescue New Leaf City from an alien invasion. When the Alien Invasion was first introduced in the GMS v107: Alliance Unbound update, it introduced the concept of Nebulites, a new stone that could be placed on equipment for extra stats. The patch also included a revamp of Masteria, which changed various map layouts in New Leaf City, added the Alien Base expansion where players would face off with the aliens, closed off the MesoGears, and simplified the maps in Crimsonwood. Due to the concept being massively unpopular, the changes to Masteria were reverted in the GMS v146: Return to Masteria update, but the Alien Base area and questline were kept. The Alien Base was in GlobalMS, ChinaMS, and TaiwanMS, but the area and questline were removed in GlobalMS's GLORY: Savior of Hope Update, leaving the mobs in a few remaining maps as part of the reworked New Leaf City questline and area. ChinaMS and TaiwanMS both removed the continent of Masteria as of September 2021, meaning that the Alien Base was completely removed from the game.
