The Part-Time Job System was a feature released alongside Character Cards in the Justice / Renegades Update, and was accessible via the Character Selection screen. This system allowed players to receive additional rewards by performing Part-Time Jobs on characters that are not logged in. Players could choose from 5 Part-Time Jobs on up to 3 characters at a time, allowing each character to receive rewards dependent on the time spent (up to 6 hours). Characters actively doing a Part-Time Job could not be played. After completing a Part-Time Job, players could log into that character and talk to Ms. Appropriation in most towns to receive their reward.

The Part-Time Jobs were as follows:

• Rest: Allow your character to rest, rewarding buffs that grant increased damage or EXP.
• Herbalism: Harvest herbs on your character, rewarding Herbs and certain Alchemy Recipes. Performing these on a character that has learned Herbalism would grant better rewards.
• Mining: Mine ores your character, rewarding Ores and certain Smithing and Accessory Crafting Recipes. Performing these on a character that has learned Mining would grant better rewards.
• General Store: Have your character work at a General Store, rewarding Potions and Scrolls.
• Weapon & Armor Store: Have your character work at a Weapon & Armor Store, rewarding Potions, Drop Rate Increase buffs, and Equipment.

It was available in all servers, but it and Character Cards were removed from the game with the introduction of the Legion System / Maple Union in the Beyond / Override Update.
