Blackgate City was an area for players Level 100 and above. It was a city being invaded by hordes of demons through a portal in the center of the city. The mobs consisted of masked variants of certain monsters from Zipangu and China, as well as 5 unique bosses that dropped the Blackgate Set.

It was in GlobalMS, ChinaMS, and TaiwanMS, but it has been removed from the game. However, the sprites for the monsters were reused for the Combo God event. In GlobalMS, the Blackgate Set can be obtained as a reward for defeating the Elite Bosses in the Phantom Forest / Crimsonwood area. The two mobs Madman and Infernal Madman were also repurposed for Maple Tour's Zipangu - Momijigahara Studio.

Trivia

• Aragami is a reference to the 2003 Japanese movie titled Aragami. In the film, a wounded samurai must overcome and defeat the flesh-eating goblin known as Aragami who lives an endless existence as a "God of Battle". The goblin desires to break free from the curse of eternal life and it can only achieve it through death.
• Atilla is a reference to Attila, also frequently referred to as Attila the Hun, a European conqueror and king of the Huns during the 5th Century. During his reign, he was one of the most feared enemies of both the Western and Eastern Roman Empires. Shortly after his death, the Hunnic Empire quickly collapsed.
• The Butcher may be based on witch doctors, specifically the ones in Africa. African witch doctors are known to cut people's body parts off, such as tongues, noses, and fingers for ritual practices.
• Asura is a reference to the Asuras, a class of powerful and divine deities in Hinduism who sought after power. "Asura" means divine in Sanskrit.
• Khan is a reference to Genghis Khan, a Mongolian Warlord who operated during the early 13th Century. He famously founded the Mongol Empire, which would earn the title of the Largest Contiguous Land Empire in history, after his death.
