V Matrix System
V Matrix is a system for characters who have advanced to their 5th Job Advancement, making use of Nodes (known as Cores in non-GMS servers) to allow them to obtain new skills, enhance specific skills, or raise the power of those skills through Node enhancements.[1]
Every job in the game will receive the V Matrix system upon advancing to 5th Job. This system will allow the player to customize their skills so that the player can choose what skills to work on. V Skills are categorized into Job Nodes, Boost Nodes, Common Nodes, and Special Nodes.
Job Nodes: These are specific skills for each job. Historically, these were released as 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th V Skills. Some jobs have more skills branching off from these 4. Each player will receive 4 job nodes. Their maximum Level is 30, and they must be Level 25 to unlock their corresponding HEXA Boost Nodes.
Boost Nodes: These enhance the final damage of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and Hyper Skills that deal damage. Boost Nodes also grant additional boosts at Level 20 and Level 40. Most Boost Nodes give either Mob Count +1, +5% Critical Rate, or +10% Damage against normal monsters at Level 20, and +20% Ignored Enemy Defense at Level 40. The Final Damage increase, Level 20 Effect, and Level 40 Effect stack with corresponding Hyper Passive Skills and HEXA Matrix enhancements when the specific skill is used. Each player will receive 6 boost nodes, with each one enhancing between 1 and 4 individual skills. Their maximum Level is 60, and they must be Level 40 to unlock their corresponding HEXA Mastery Nodes.
Common Nodes: These are skill nodes that are shared between all jobs, as well as jobs within the same class type, faction, and other categories. Their maximum Level is 30.
Special Nodes: These grant a special buff when assigned to its special slot and after achieving certain conditions (such as attacking a certain number of times or using a Rune). This activation is indicated by a flash of light and a V icon above the player and within the Buff UI. Only one Special Node can be active at any time. It costs 14 V Points to unlock an expired Special Node for 168 hours (1 week). It costs up to 48 V Points (1.6 Points per day, rounded up), to extend the Node for up to 30 days.
The list of Common, Job, and Special Nodes is as follows:

V Points
In order to upgrade nodes, players will need to consume various types of Nodestones - which are obtained from monsters in Arcane River and Level 260+ Grandis regions (tradable), or from events (untradable) - to obtain V Points. Each type of Nodestone grants a certain amount of V Points, with the Mirror World Nodestone and Mitra's Nodestone granting their specific Common Skill the first time they are used.
Up to 9,999 V Points can be held at a time. Players can spend 2 V Points to create a Nodestone that is transferable within world and time limited. Additionally, it costs 10 million Mesos to reset V Point allocation. Since resetting recycles points, the only way to deplete them is by either crafting Nodestones or by unlocking and extending Special Nodes.
The amount of V Points required to max each node type is as follows:
Job Nodes, True Arachnid Reflection, and Solar Crest

Quests
Call of the Erdas
Once the player reaches Level 200, the Memory Keeper will contact the player to see if they are ready to attempt the 5th Job Advancement. He will allow the player to access The Erda Flow, which tells the player that the Black Mage is trying to harness the energy of the Erda.
Blessings of the Goddess
After returning to the Memory Keeper, he tells the player to receive the blessings of the goddesses of Maple World, Grandis, and Tynerum, accessible through Horizon Portals in certain maps. Each of the goddesses will give the player a test to see if they are worthy of passing, and rewards the player with an Arcane Stone. The tests are as follows:
The Goddess of Maple World, accessible through a Horizon Portal in Bowman Instructional School, will ask the player which cause the player are fighting for (that varies based on their job; e.g. Phantom is asked if he is fighting for his friends who sealed the Black Mage, or Empress Cygnus (Aria's successor).
Goddess of Tynerum, accessible through a Horizon Portal in Deserted Camp, will ask the player to complete a test, only to admit that she was joking.
Record of Power
Once the player completes the tests of each goddess, the player will have an Arcane Stone from each one. The Memory Keeper will grant the player the 5th Job Advancement, all 4 of their main Skill Nodes based on their job, and 5 regular Nodestone. The Memory Keeper will tell the player that they can fill up each Arcane Stone with 500,000,000 (500 million) EXP. The player can only fill up one stone at a time. For each stone the player fill, the player will be given a Goddess EXP Potion, granting the player an additional 500,000,000 EXP each as a reward for filling up each stone.
Finally, the Memory Keeper will teach the player about Arcane Power, which is needed to damage enemies in the area created by the Black Mage with the Erda's power, Arcane River. First, he will have the player defeat 1 Happy Erda without any Arcane Power (dealing 10% damage due to the lack of Arcane Power) to show the player how tough the enemies are. He will then lend the player a plain Arcane Symbol that cannot level up, but will be acceptable for the time being as the player helps Kao out in the first area, Vanishing Journey.
